Quest: In Search of Hrongar's Ring

Embark on an epic quest to claim the ring of the ancient Nord hero Hrongar Irontoe! The quest can be started by speaking to the Dark Elf Ararvyne in Candlehearth Hall in Windhelm. Enjoy! If you find any bugs, please report them.

Nordic legend holds that in the mid First Era there existed a heroic Nord by the name of Hrongar Irontoe. At a very young age, Hrongar began adventuring. It is said that his first quest started at his father's inn located in the plains near modern Whiterun. A man crawled into the inn, bruised and bleeding, distraught that a bear had swallowed his family sword while he was adventuring in a cave down the road. As his father did his best to tend to the man's wounds, Hrongar snuck off with his dagger to slay the bear.

While not much is known about Hrongar's physical appearance it can be said that Hrongar was tall, extremely strong, and hearty boy. His "heartiness" is disputed by some scholars, insisting that Hrongar went to the cave in his own greed, and that rather, instead of being kindhearted, he was a brute and a bully. Hrongar lusted a life of adventure all his life, and now was his chance to recover a more suitable weapon.

Hrongar went to the cave, and is said to have lifted the bear up with one hand, and shoved the dagger through its throat. He then placed the corpse on the ground, made an incision through the bear's stomach, and retrieved the blade.

Hrongar journeyed back to the inn, but it seemed too late. As best as his father tried to stop the man from bleeding, it looked like he didn't have long left. It is said that the man thanked Hrongar for his valor in retrieving the blade, and, since none of his kin were around, he could keep it. It is generally accepted that his father declined in him taking the blade, and instead he would sell it, and that this is the time Hrongar set out as an adventurer. Some scholars believe that when this argument arose, Hrongar actually killed his father with his new sword, and ran off in fear of being put to death.

Legend tells of the ancient Nord hero Hrongar Irontoe, who killed a mighty wizard with his powerful blade, and took his ring. Now, a Dark Elven wizard named Ararvyne wants you to find this ring. Will you go forth and find Hrongar Irontoe's long lost tomb and claim his treasure for yourself?

The reward also contains a ring for mages, so mages aren't left out! Be sure to rate and comment on the mod letting me know how you enjoyed it.

Fixes for known "bugs":

-Sometimes Ararvyne will refuse to start quest dialogue and merely say typical Dunmer greetings such as "Yes, sera?". Reloading a previous save usually fixes this.
-"Oh no! Hrongar drops two swords!" This is intentional, don't worry about it.
-"I can't find the key to open the door to the main part of his tomb!" It's on a pedestal, if it's not there it's possible you knocked it off in combat, just check the floor near it.
