Von nomorevideos

Custom Maps and How To Install Them
I personally only use UGX for my zombie maps, but there are a bunch of others as well. UGX has a very large variety of maps. Most custom maps are released on several websites anyways, so you will most likely find every map you want on UGX.

Link to UGX Mods: http://ugx-mods.com/forum/

You have to sign up for UGX in order to see the download links for maps.

Most maps use mediafire and mega, some mappers will also use google drive.
It's pretty standard for mega and google, just click the link and then download the map.

For mediafire I recommend you're a bit more careful though. Mediafire puts pretty questionable ads on their sites, plus it also has popups. You can use a popup blocker, but that will usually make it so you can't start the download. In order to safely download from mediafire I recommend you have ad block and also a popup blocker.

After clicking the link and you're on mediafire wait for the download button to finish loading.
Then right click it and copy the url.

Now go to a new tab and paste the url. After pasting it and hitting enter your download will start.

The only download I ever had problems with was a map called ragnarok. The copy-paste of the download button never worked with that map and you had to endure the popup cancer if you wanted to download it.

Maps usually come in .exe format. They're basically slim lined extractors that put the map into the right folder for you. Just click the .exe and follow the instructions.

You can also use programs like bandizip and winrar to directly open the .exe file and extract the folder yourself. I do it that way since I manually rename my folders anyways, so it's quicker that way.

Maps can also be downloaded, put into the right place and also launched via the UGX map manager.
I personally don't use it since it's way easier for me to just download the maps manually. The map manager has a few exclusive maps though, so if you want those specific maps you have to use it at least for the download. You can find it on UGX's website.

Ingame (the solo/coop version of the game, not the multiplayer) in the main menu you'll find an option called "mods". You can click that and then you'll see a list of all your custom maps.

Select and launch your mod to play the map.
Field of View (T4M)
Getting a higher FOV without using devmap or sv_cheats is actually pretty easy.

T4M is used to extend w@w's memory limit and allows for bigger and more complex maps. T4M only loads into the solo/coop version of the game, you can't use it to change your FOV in multiplayer. Most multiplayer servers have dedicated chat commands to change your FOV I believe.
Also some custom zombie maps require T4M to even run, without it they will simply crash upon loading. So it's pretty convenient that T4M also has the side effect of unflagging FOV related commands as cheats.

Now I know some custom maps have a FOV slider in their options, but your FOV will reset after every death and even with certain power ups like zombie blood.
It's much easier to just download T4M and use the unflagged cg_fov command with it.

With T4M you can use cg_fov 90 (90 is the limit) and cg_fovscale X (1 = normal scale for the FOV, 1.1 would turn 90 into 99).

Note that I used an ultra wide aspect ratio here. It still shows off the difference between the default FOV of 65 and 90 though.

To make a bind, open the ingame console with ~ and type in bind key "cg_fov 90" .
While you have the console open you won't be able to move or shoot ingame, so it's best to do this while you have your game paused. You can close the console with a second ~ press.

To install T4M, simply download the extension and put both the .dll and .bmp into your main w@w directory.
You can find the post with the download here: http://ugx-mods.com/forum/index.php?topic=8092.0

Ultra Widescreen Support
By default you can only go up to 16:9 as aspect ratio. If you play on a 21:9 monitor or have a multi monitor setup the game will become stretched and retain its original scaled FOV as well.

To fix this you can use a widescreen fixer program. I personally use this version of the widescreen fixer, found in this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/5a0q9a/does_anyone_have_a_download_source_for_widescreen/

You can also find the program at its new domain here: https://www.flawlesswidescreen.org/

After the program started, you can choose a game from the list.

In the settings tab you can set your hotkey to turn the fix on and off.

In the main tab you can click the little gear icon. A new window will pop up. In w@w's case you can now change the value for the corrected resolution. Some other games will have extra option here, like different FPS caps and extra FOV options.
You can also switch between your game's version and also between the solo/coop version and multiplayer.

Now with the program still open, launch your game. Ingame you then can turn the fix on and off via your hotkey.

Disclaimer

You shouldn't have problems with this program online in w@w's multiplayer, but I'd be more careful with other CoD titles.
This widescreen fixer also lets you change your FOV in for example CoD: Ghosts, but FOV trainers aren't allowed in Ghosts' multiplayer since the game already has a FOV slider in its options. If you wanna use this program with other CoD titles that use VAC, only use it in offline and potentially singleplayer sessions.
