How to Extract Captain Clown's Toaster Strudel on Dustbowl

In this guide, you will learn how to safely extract the #1 secret on the popular attack and defend map, Dustbowl. This secret is Captain Clown's toaster strudel.

The Story behind Captain Clown's toaster strudel

Captain Clown was a Valve employee who worked on Team Fortress 2's early development. He invented the map Dustbowl in April 20, 2007, right before the game was released. He was sadly killed by a man known as none other then Gru on July 13, 2010. In honor of Captain Clown, Valve decided to add a easter egg to his favorite map, Dustbowl. Captain Clown's favorite food was toaster strudel, so they decided it would only be correct to put that on the map.

How to Access Captain Clown's secret Toaster Strudel

In Dustbowl, there are 3 "areas", each containing two control points. Captain Clown's toaster strudel is hidden in the Second area, near the first control point. In Dustbowl, the first control point of the second area is on top of a large tool shed. First, you will need to become a Pyro. As pyro, go to the control point and go inside the shed where the tools are. Simply airblast the sharpest tool in the shed at a 45 degree angle so it falls off. Then, go soldier and pick up the sharpest tool in the shed that you previously airblasted off the wall. When you pick it up, you will be shown a menu when you press 'C'. This menu shows the sharpest tool in the shed's stats.

+ 500 Damage
+ 5,000 Damage Resistance when Active
+ Can be Thrown similar to a Boomerang
+ Grants the Wearer the Ability to Break Wooden Planks

Pressing the middle mouse button will allow you to throw the tool. Then, proceed to the second control point of Dustbowl after you understand the sharpest tool in the shed's statistics. Stand on the control point and look towards the building leading to the control point. There is a little underpass with wooden planks leading to a dark abyss. Break those wooden planks and jump into the hole. You will be shown a loading screen as you would see when a map changes. It will read "downloading map finalboss_vectorsfortress. When the map loads, you will see a big ice floor with a couch and TV in front of you. Vector comes out of the T.V. and you have to fight him.

Defeating Vector

Defeating Vector is fairly simple. He only has 3 attacks, shown below.

-Nuclear Waves (50 damage to player if directly hit)
-Seismic Cannons (60 damage to player if directly hit)
-Shark Attack (100 damage to player if directly hit)

To avoid Vector's Nuclear Waves, simply jump over the shock waves on the floor when they get close enough.

To avoid the Seismic Cannons, hit the explosive cannonballs with the sharpest tool in the shed before they hit you.

To avoid the Shark Attack, hit the shark in both of its eyes before it can eat you.

To kill Vector, you must lure the shark under the ice to eat him.

Once the shark eats Vector, Gru will appear screaming at you for killing his best friend. You will then have to fight Gru.

Defeating Gru

Gru is nearly impossible to beat, he has 3 insanely overpowered attacks, as shown below.

-Freeze Ray (Freezes player, 50 damage if direct hit)
-Scarf Strangle (Instant kill if latched on for more then 3 seconds)
-Crust Stuffer (Instant kill if touched)

To avoid the Freeze Ray, you must simply jump over the ray
To avoid the Scarf Strangle, hit Gru in the eyes when he is charging at you with the Scarf.
To avoid the Crust Stuffer, immediately run the opposite direction once Gru starts charging at you with his buff arms.

To kill Gru, you must hit him 1,000 times in the forehead. Once you kill Gru, he explodes into a bowl of toaster strudel. The explosion starts to make the fortress collapse. You must grab the bowl of toaster strudel and escape the fortress within 1 minute to win. Once you escape, you will be back on Dustbowl's 2nd control point in the 2nd area.

Everything will be normal except one thing... in your inventory, you will have a new item... "Captain Clown's Toaster Strudel", the description reads "You saved Captain Clown's favorite snack. You are a legend." The item is untradable, uncraftable, and undeletable.

Legend has it... after 3 years of having the toaster strudel in your inventory... Gru comes back from the dead, more angry then ever... to get his revenge.
