Legendary Lord Quest Item Steps - Updated for The Silent and The Fury DLC
By Kratosirving
Updated note for The Shadow and The Blade DLC:

- After having some time to look at all 5 start positions for the three new factions in The Shadow and the Blade DLC, here are my personal thoughts.

Deathmaster Snikch and Clan Eshin are a fantastic addition to the game. Their start position is fairly centralized in the Vortex Campaign and somewhat isolated on Mortal Empires, but both work well. The new units and the focus on staying with them unless you want to eat the additional recruitment cost for other Clans units is great, and a much appreciated improvement over a similar feature from Tehenhuain's campaign. Recruitment cost being tripled is a much more lenient penalty than triple upkeep. And the Spy menu for them? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fantastic. The Anarchy Scheme is a bit too cheesy in that you can literally remove the most dominant AI faction from the game when you feel like it as you approach the endgame, but overall I love it.

Malus Darkblade and Hag Graef present some things I like, and some I don't. I like the idea of the dilemma of keeping or giving up Hag Graef, but the bonuses for giving it up just aren't significant enough to ever consider getting rid of the city. You can make back the 20k you would have gotten in just 40 turns, and with the Upkeep lowered for armies in the province as long as you hold it means you can easily have a second stack just sitting on the city forever. Love the Vortex start down in the southeast corner of the map, I felt that was going to be Lokhir's start position back when CA announced the Vampire Coast. Not as much a fan of the Mortal Empires start though. Brings you into conflict with Clan Eshin almost immediately, but it does ultimately spice up the action in that corner of the map now that there's Snikch, Malus, Kroq'Gar, Khalida, and Queek all within a few turns of each other.

Repanse and her flavor of focusing on scourging all manner of Undead is a lovely touch, one I'm surprised wasn't incorporated sooner with Mousillon sitting on Alberic's doorstep since Warhammer I. Her personal skill line might make things a bit too easy against the Tomb Kings and other Undead, but it's her flavor so it's fine. All in all, a very good edition for FLC, as has been the case since Tik'taq'to in my personal opinion.

When I did my guide for LL Quest Chain steps for Total War: Warhammer, I already had planned to make one for Total War: Warhammer II as well. So, just following through on that.

What this guide DOES cover:
- The steps to each quest chain for every Legendary Lord in Total War: Warhammer II, including the DLC factions and their Legendary Lords.

What this guide DOES NOT cover:
- What to do if the quest aborts and glitches up to not provide a replacement; As of this initial posting, I don't know if this glitch still exists for TW: Warhammer II, but I'm putting it here just in case anyhow.
- So far with what I've seen for TW: Warhammer II, most of the quest chain steps have very little that need alternate steps. This was plentiful in the first game, but I haven't seen one yet for the second game. I'll update if needed should alternate steps become apparant.
- Help you win Quest Battles; It's a TW game, you have to think of how to win the battle yourself. :) ...Also, you may have an army that can completely outclass the units that would be present in the battle at the time, making most strategy unnecessary in that regard.
- Any errors that might arise because of mod conflicts; I haven't had this happen to me yet, but I'll list it anyhow just in case.
- As of this posting, any steps for the combined Mortal Empires Campaign that will be coming soon.
- Note: After viewing many early access streams and vids, all of the quest chains that have a step such as ‘Maintain X amount of units across your armies’ seems to be set at your current unit count plus three. For example, if you currently have 24 units, the quest chain will ask you to have 27 units when it activates.

Updated for the addition of Rakarth the Beastlord and The Thousand Maws faction!
Kratosirving  [author] Dec 4, 2020 @ 12:54pm
Cheers!

And another update: I kind of sped through both Drycha's and the Sister's campaigns just to do the quest chains, and with Throt already having been done from watching videos, I believe that covers all of the new Legendary Lords included in this DLC. Now time to get down to actually trying one in a serious campaign outside of Easy/Easy for this testing. :D
Furtissim Dec 4, 2020 @ 12:45pm
Ahh yes! Thanks. It's just that there's a bug where if you confederate Drycha before her quest and then do it yourself you're never given the quest for Coeddil. But this is 'just' a bug which will be fixed by CA in due time and CBM in the meantime. Cheers!
Kratosirving  [author] Dec 4, 2020 @ 11:34am
@Furtissim There's a battle for the Fang, but it's not a quest battle in the usual sense. It's treated as a normal battle: it spawns in an enemy Empire army for you to defeat, and you can even auto-resolve it. The expected quest battle with a cinematic attached to it happens in the follow-up quest Coeddil Unchained.
Kratosirving  [author] Dec 4, 2020 @ 10:50am
I haven't been able to watch a lot of vids or play the DLC since it dropped yesterday, so the guide is still in progress for the moment. :)
Furtissim Dec 4, 2020 @ 7:46am
Do you have to fight a quest battle for the Fang of Taalroth or is it obtained just by raiding?
