Log Jammer Kennywood

Deskripsi
This is a recreation of the Log Jammer at Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh. Was one of my favorite rides as a kid but sadly will be torn down after 42 years this fall. It opened on May 11, 1975 and was manufactured by Arrow Dynamics. The ride was unique because of its spillway drop which was the only example of this ride element on an Arrow log flume. It was one of three water rides at Kennywood, the other two being Pittsburgh Plunge and Raging Rapids. The ride permanently closed at the end of the 2017 summer season on September 17, 2017.

Log Jammer traveled through the wooded areas of Kennywood in the far right corner of the park. It was the park's first million-dollar ride. The ride included two lift hills, a 27-foot (8.2 m) spillway drop and a 53-foot (16 m) drop down the final chute.[2] One of the ride's notable features is a short uphill section after the first drop.

In 1999 they built Exerminator which kind of filled the void left by Le Cachot's removal. But it is a wild mouse roller coaster in the dark with a lift and some drops. And, Garfield's Nightmare was retired to become the Old Mill again with new western/spooky scenes that have bright neon colors.

I hate to see rides retired or burn down. Kennywood had a cool Ghost Ship ride in a former dance pavilion using cars and track from the former Laff in the Dark where the Turnpike car ride was built , now the location of Sky Rocket. It was themed by Bill Tracy who passed in August 1974. It burned to the ground in early 1975. Then, the park decided to get rid of Le Cachot in Sept 1998 and it was razed to the ground and the props auctioned off to collectors and the cars went to Bushkill Park near Easton, PA and after the Haunted Pretzel was ruined by heavy snows and floods, the cars were bought by Chris Geffen of York, PA who wanted to build a dark ride. Then, they retired Gold Rusher but Ghostwood Estates was built in it's place.
