Chill's LA Noire Reshade v1.1
By iChillum
With this Reshade, I wanted to warm and soften the game up without straying too much from the color design already in place.

Summary
With this Reshade, I wanted to warm and soften the game up without straying too much from the color design already in place.
Important Note
Please note that I select shaders and their settings based on each individual game I create a Reshade for. This takes time, and I hope my efforts show. It seems common for many creators to reuse the same Reshade across games regardless of art style, mood or setting.

Please feel free to take a moment to checkout my other Reshades if you have a moment!

Required Shaders
Note that the instructions provide guidance on downloading these shaders. Downloading only the necessary shaders will help guarantee additional game performance.

-AmbientLight
-ChromaticAberration
-FakeHDR
-FXAA
-LumaSharpen
-MagicBloom
-Vibrance
Installation
1. Download Download the ReShade installer from https://reshade.me and run it.

2.Select LANoire.exe (\%SteamDirectory%\steamapps\common\L.A.Noire) and click on the graphics API DirectX 10+ (This was tested with DirectX 11).

3.Confirm the installation of standard shaders when the installer's pop-up message opens, and install the following shaders: AmbientLight,ChromaticAberration,FakeHDR,FXAA,LumaSharpen,MagicBloom,Vibrance

4.Download this preset HERE[sfx.thelazy.net], and rename the file to "YOUR_PRESET_NAME.ini". The most important part is changing the ".txt" file to ."ini."

5.Run LA Noire; be patient as the game can take longer to load all of the ReShade shaders.

6.Open ReShade menu with "Shift+F2" and use the drop down menu to select the .ini file you just put in your bin folder. Keep hitting the continue button until the boxes turn from red to grey/clear.

7.If you are happy with the settings, Click on the Settings tab.

8.Navigate to Usage Mode and change to Performance. This will ensure the best possible performance for low-end systems while running ReShade
Notes and Known Issues
~ Some cut scenes will be very bright and warm due to the scene lighting with the Reshade. It is suggested that from the Settings tab in Reshade that you configure an appropriate keybinding for toggling the reshade on/off in the event these cut scenes bother you too much. I will look to resolve this issue in future releases.
Performance
While I design and test all of my Reshades with performance in-mind, my hardware settings and resolutions may differ from yours. While mood is important, framerate should be the most important if you are a true gamer. Nothing will be "one size fits all", so play around and find the right compromise of performance and quality.

My PC Hardware: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/iChillum/saved/#view=dkYLD3
~ At the time of this Reshade release, I was using a EVGA GTX 980 SC.
~ CPU is overclocked to 4.8GHz Turbo speed, and CPU cores are unparked.

Can confirm 7michel7's fix works with 4.0.1. No logical reason why it should, but it does

Hi,
i use reshade 3.4.1. First i set up reshade it is a d3d10/11 game, but no luch. then i switched (game) to d3d9 and set up reshade it is a d3d9 game and reshade works.
Then I switch back to d3d11 and it´s still working.
Conclusion: you must set up reshade with d3d9 to get the d3d9.dll and reshade works fine (it is the same file, only other name!)

@rowdy_dog - I'll take a look again at this during my afternoon to see if there has been any recent changes. Sadly last time around it looked like after I installed a patch from Rockstar, Reshade was failing to load on all versions :tcry:. I'll post an update if I can figure out a resolution.

There was a patch?

Yeah this peasant remaster is a big sham! I ALWAYS use Reshade with older games, and newer games too for that matter. It can make them look so much nicer, less drab, like your reshade for LA Noire. I hope you can make it work. Maybe with an older version of reshade or sweetfx.

Yeah...and this game released 7years ago no less. Obviously they are now milking it on VR, but there are only a handful of reshades out there including mine...I'm going to be giving it another go tonight, but again, it looks like Rockstar blocked Reshade. Heaven forbid I try to make the game look a little nicer, don't want that cutting into console sales :trainbowbarf:

Sigh goddamnit Rockstar. You're killing all goodwill PC gamers have towards you.
