US Army Sterling T26 8x8 12-ton Heavy Truck with Sherman Firefly

According to Tony Gibbs in “Sterling T26 Discovered”, “The T26 was designed to take over from the M26 Dragon Wagon, at a time when the Americans were building super-heavy tanks, capable of taking on the German Tigers,” but “Powerful though the M26 was, it was just not up to lugging the 70-ton T29 tank nor the turretless T-28, which weighed in at no less than 95 tons.” An interesting fact about the vehicle is that it "was steered by rotating the entire front bogie, which gave it a very tight turning circle. Coupled with the much shorter T58 semi-trailer this arrangement would have helped on the narrow lanes encountered in Normandy." It never saw service, as "the war ended before it could be shipped to Europe.”

The model I created has a rotating front boogie that can rotate up to 180°. I advise caution while turning as the vehicle is prone to flipping. In the current configuration (tank carrier) it is carrying Grouchy's Sherman Firefly, but you can swap it for any vehicle in the editor. While steering you will hear actuators, that's because the steering wheel moves as you steer.
