Want to understand healing? become the healer...
By Kick the Bukkit
sorry guys... paladins got on my nerves... the devs, the bugs, the inbalance, the eternal beta, etc. so for those who want to copy, use or finish this... go right ahead ;) i will leave this here for those who want it. or drop a comment and i can add you to the editing list ;)

To many times i see people giving their support a hard time... and most of the time they have no clue how the support works or how their healing works.

Then there's "cauterize" wich can handicap healing by up to 90% (this isn't allways clear in the mids of battle)

And for those who are so hellbent on blaming their supports not healing at any given time... COOLDOWN :) (yes, these things can often keep your support from healing you because you allready received a ton of health but you sponged it all)

so this is a quick guide on how the supports work and how YOU can make THEIR lives a bit easier... (and not being a .... about it)

Ying
Ying's healing:
ying can create illusions that automaticly heal the closes ally for 350 a second (you can take a legendary so it will heal 2 allies but with 30% healing reduction) this has a 5 second cooldown (per illusion, 2 can be active any given time)

ying's ult healing:
heals for 600 health per second for 8 seconds. (this can also be used to teleport to your team)

how you can help ying:
here illusions are stationary... but they can only heal if you are in their line of sight. it's hard to place illusions out of enemy range (they can be destroyed)
so try to give her cover and try to stay in the line of sight of said illusions.

there now you are getting healed by ying and you don't have to shout "need healing" because she just puts a "dispenser" there
Seris
Seris's healing:
Restore Soul restores 1000 health every second for 2 seconds to a single target. this is her only method of healing... so it's on cooldown a lot (she'll be spamming it all match long)

seris also has selfheal wich does a lot of damage (so a great healer to keep your tanks alive while dishing out damage and have great self sustain + helping said tanks)

how you can help seris:
she can only heal 1 champ at a time (preferd tanks because of the high health and flanks never being near her) so let her prioritise tanks and don't go whining that you didn't get healed as a flank (you're a flank... build some sustain)

also her healing is somewhat hard to land when the whole team is jumping through each other (so more often then not you'll heal the wrong target missing the opertunity of healing the champ you actualy NEED to heal... wich then again makes people rage for not healing and/or whining about targeting the tanks while the team stands there humping each other)
Grover
Grover's healing:
grover is somewhat an oddball (nontheless... great support)
Grover passively heals nearby allies for 80 health a second. you can also activate this ability to heal nearby allies instantly for 1000 (yes if the whole team is there, every person gets 1K healing) has a 12 sec. cooldown (burst heal)

Grover's ult healing:
this turns your team into a damage sponge for 5sec. (heals 2500/sec) great for final push or heavy teamfights (grover can't attack during his ult)

how you can help Grover:
shields... don't let the enemy team hit grover but let grover hit/snipe the enemy team (fernando and makoa are great tanks for him because grover needs to stick close as he has AoE healing surrounding himself)

Helping Pip is probably similar to Seris though, as you can body block his healing- though due to the AoE it isn't so bad if everyone is close to Pip to begin with.

To make note of Pip: Without a proper loadout, he's hardly a healer. Once per 8 seconds, he can throw a grenade that heals you for 1000, so just hope that Pip has a loadout that speeds that up, as he is more of a debuffer than a healer.

For mal damba , he does 280 heal /s with mending spirits ( with a 3 sec CD ) ( can also do 300 upfront with a legendary card ) and gourd which can be used to dmg for 200 /s and does 280 heals /s ( with 10 sec CD default , can be decreased with many gourds).
he only has gourd for self heal and some loadout cards .

you can help him out by not acting like a spazz ( A, D strafing and just moving randomly ) , standing in the gourd as he can only give heal to 2 people at once (default) with mending spirits . and it also helps if you shield him from fire .

You might want to tidy that up a bit but thats the basics .

On what Spade said, 36k healing isnt that much.

Jenos is a good healer and the damage buff on targets affected by his heals with Luminary equiped makes up for his lack of strong heals. People thing of Jenos as a "bad healer" because he doesn't heal for very much when someone complaigns about him its most likely a damage or a flank.
Spade the chef Feb 13, 2018 @ 9:43am
Jenos's healing has limited range but can heal through walls he is the typical combat medic good dps, decent heals,strong/useful abilities and if played correctly can get you up to 36k healing in ONE match. His heals have a limited range to balance out being able to heal through walls and with Luminary Jenos becomes a buffer.

I can help with the Jenos section if ya want

Frontline should stay near Ghrok and only use movement abilitys after the circle ends or before it is placed, as Ghrok cannot aid the frontline that rushes foward as he has no way to get to them and helping.

Damage should stay near the circle. Which should be obvious as they are squishy.
And speaking to you- you know who you are - here, when you die because you stood outside the circle- I am not to blame, you are to blame. Okay?

One of the absolute best ways to support Ghrok is by protectin Ghroks totem. His totem is still a deployable, with 1500hp (up to 2500hp with monolith). So in any AOE heavy battle ( Or given enough enemy intelligence) the totem will be destroyed and any potential heals will be lost. So by shielding the totem one can prolong the totems life and thus- yours.

This is for casual, who knows for competitive.
[oh god this was a mistake]
