How to enable the Developer Console
First, Go to

Options>

Keyboard/Mouse>

Allow Developer Console and Enable.

You can access the console by clicking " ` " At the top left of your keyboard below the Esc button.
Extending the Field Of Vision (FOV)
Now, Go to your game. Hit ESC, then type the following into the console.

cl_fov 100

viewmodel_offset_y 8

You will see the difference when you have configure both the FOV and the View Model, For example here:

cl_fov 90 (Default)

cl_fov 100
Extending the View Model
Now, Same as the FOV, we can type in a certain command to make a view model more wider and not too big for the screen.

Use this command:

viewmodel_offset_y 8

Example

viewmodel_offset_y 4 (Default)

viewmodel_offset_y 8
That's it!
I hope that this guide helped you! Goodluck and Thank you for taking the time reading this guide! Let me know if it works.

PS: It is up to you to if you want to go higher than 100 FOV or a higher View model. But trust me, Don't go over 120. It can be a little bit dizzy and nauseous to play with a high FOV. Have a nice day!

EDIT: To keep your FOV throughout the game without redoing it all over again, try this method given by @CONNOR (RX800) from the comments. Enjoy! :)

1) add txt in folder where you can find
steamapps\common\Portal 2\portal2\cfg
2) change that new txt to autoexec.cfg
3) write you want (fov and viewmodel) and save
4) in library, where to find port 2, right click, touch properties and write "-exec autoexec" in "launch parameters"
5) and done you can play any level with automatic command

@Adhan welp,I'll try testing some commands when I have the time to do so. Glad binding a keyboard button worked out for you!

@ItsBlueHunter™ Hey thanks for the reply!
Yes and unfortunately it doesn't work for me. It seems fov and launch commands don't go well together.
Anyway, what I did was to remove the cl_fov line from the cfg file and type the bind "[unused keyboard button] cl_fov XX" in the command console.

Hi, @Adhan! Have you tried typing "-exec autoexec" in Steam launch options?
Adhan Aug 15, 2024 @ 8:45am
Any idea why my new fov doesn't work?
I have created an autoexec.cfg file with the following lines:

cl_fov 105
fps_max 165
mat_motion_blur_enabled 0
viewmodel_offset_y 7

I have also enabled console commands in-game. They all are in effect except for the fov, which resets every time :/
