1: Stand stable and throw the horseshoes similar to a bowling ball, i.e. swing your whole arm low from back to front. Adjust your stand when you always throw too far in the same direction.
This way I mostly came very close to the pole with the first attempt.
2: When standing at the right spot you can just swing your arm back and forth, grabbing a new horseshoe on the way back and letting it go at the right moment, without taking your eyes off the target. This way you can throw a lot of them in a short amount of time while remain quite accurate.
3: Open up the settings menu and change the gravity options for objects. Choosing "on the moon" really helps with far away poles, while "realistic" is good for short distances. Don't turn it off completely, it will make things even harder.
