List of console cheats

This is a list of cheats for The Sims 3, and how to access them. It also has some that help with fixing some of the more persistent bugs with the game which I will point out with parentheses. I hope this helps some of you!

How to access the console menu.

Control+Shift+C Codes
While in game, press Control+Shift+C on your keyboard to bring up the code console.

List of console cheats

resetSim *
This will reset all sims in your game. Unusual freezing is usually attributed to sims somewhere in your town having bugged pathing. (note if you have random unexplained lockups or freezing with your game, this command should help with that problem).


fullscreen on/off
Adjusts your game screen to full or windowed mode.


constrainFloorElevation [true/false]
Allows all terrain adjustments regardless of objects, Sims, and other structures on them. Walls, floors, and objects will move with the terrain.



RestrictBuildBuyInBuildings [on|off] (do not enter [on|off]. Choose on or off to enter at the end of code text)
Allows changes to lot otherwise restricted by the Homeowner's Association


Buydebug
Allows you to buy otherwise un-buyable objects For this one to work properly you first need to do the testingcheatsenabled true cheat in LIVE mode then you need to type buydebug on
in BUY.It will add a question mark into the bottom right corner of the screen. Click that and you can see the extra stuff added that you can buy.


familyfunds [lastname] [moneyamount]
Get as much money as you want.


enableLlamas [on/off]
Gives a message that says, "Llamas enabled."


jokePlease
Gives you a joke in the code console prompt.


hideHeadlineEffects [on/off]
Hides all meters and effects in the game, such as the plumbbob and skill meter.


quit
Like it says, quits the game.


help
Lists all available commands at the moment.


slowMotionViz <level>
Puts the game in slow motion. Optional parameter, value 0 = normal speed and 8 = slowest.


ResetLifetimeHappiness
Resets the lifetime happiness of all the sims in an active household. ResetLifetimeHappiness


resetSim <fi rstname> <lastname>
Resets the named Sim with neutral motives, no moodlets, and teleports Sim back home.


fps on/off
Shows your Frame per Second in the upper right area while on.


DisplayLotPackageFileName [on/off]
Switches lot tooltips on or off


fadeObjects [on/off]
Toggles whether objects fade when the camera gets close to them.


testingcheatsenabled true
Turns on Testing Cheats, just shift+click a Sim, or anything else, like your Mailbox. (Note, this allows you to delete bugged objects that may be causing problems in your game.) (With this enabled you can also slide mood meters up and down, as well as friendship meters. It allows you to make instant friends or enemies in case the need ever arises.)


unlockOutfits on/off
Unlocks outfits in CAS (Create a Sim) mode. This must be enabled before going into CAS.

DisableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt On/Off
When holding on alt, disable snapping to slots (can be rotated in any direction also)


disableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt [on/off]
When on, objects will not snap to slots while holding alt.


kaching
While on the lot, entering this will give you $1,000.


motherlode
While on the lot, entering this will give you $50,000.


moveobjects on/off
With this On, it will allow you to move anything, including Sims, in your Buy/Build mode. Removes footprint limitation for all object placement in Buy Mode and Build Mode. Removes limitations placed on hand tool for when objects are in use, or are normally non-movable objects. Allows for the intersection of objects and off center placement. Note that using this cheat allows you to delete objects that normally cannot be deleted, such as Sims, the mailbox, and the garbage can. If you delete these objects, there is no way to get them back, so be careful! (Also, on a more trivial note, if you use moveObjects on a sim with the "good" trait, they will have a halo appear around their head when you exit buy/build mode.) You can use this to delete gravestones in the cemetery.

I have that if you go and select move, you as usual will bring up that thing were you select your new house or lot to move to. Famly funds will work for you then.

Ah but cheats here, can do much more than actually "cheat" here. Like some of them actually repair some of the glitches, and bugs the game has.

NOTE: In different screens you'll have access to different lists of codes, because these codes are for debugging more than cheating. If you can't seem to get a code working, type 'help' and check to see if your code is even listed in that section of the game.

Example: The only place I could find to get the 'familyFunds' code to work is in 'Choose a Household' mode of game setup screen.
