Weapon Damage reference

This will give you a good indication of how much damage a weapon does to an enemy if you hit them. This can be very useful in-game because it allows you to estimate an enemies remaining hp and you can decide upon attack or defensive approaches accordingly.

Introduction

Hi!
So this guide is meant to let you all know about the damage a weapon gives to an enemy when you hit them in a certain area of their body.

First basic rule of being a good Counter-strike player is to aim for that head! The head hitbox is slightly smaller in cs:go than it is in CS:S so unfortunately it's a little more difficult but you get used to it. A headshot doesnt always mean an instant kill though, some guns are very weak and cannot take more than 100hp in 1 bullet. This would be the glock and the p2000 (The two starting pistols).

Ok head to next section to take a look at the chart and a detailed explanation.

The damage chart

Well thanks to my good friend Google, I came across this chart which saves me a LOT of time writing it all down myself so thankyou to whoever made it and http://www.schuzak.jp for your hard work.


Now as you can see, the green box's indicate the amount of hp given if they have armour on, for some bloody reason though there are some guns that do more damage when the enemy has armour on (i dont know why that is). Anywhooo... see also the Legs collumn? no green cells there, because armour doesnt protect the legs (they got something right).

The next thing you need to know about this chart is that this has been recorded when the enemy is standing about 1 metre away (about 3 feet) away, and make this clear Damage is reduced over distance! so see how the P90 does 102 damage to the head? If you are standing on the other side of the map and somehow hit someone in the head with a P90, you will probably only end up doing about 70-80 damage to them. The same thing goes for wall-banging, once a bullet passes through a wall there is a big reduction of damage depending on the thickness of the wall and how many walls it passes through. (I once did 58 damage with an AWP headshot. that went through 2 walls so dont expect to be able to do much better than that with any other gun.)

Also it seems that the knife and grenade damages are left out so I shall estimate them based on personal experience.
Knife to Back (stab): 155 damage (same with back of legs i think)
Knife to Front (stab): 55 damage with armour, 65 without armour
Knife to Back (slash): dont know
Knife to Front (slash): 20-25 (I think)

NOTE: Slashing (left clicking) reaches further than stabbing! (right clicking)

Conclusion

I hope this helps you guys and girls out when playing. Remember to study that chart and the damage results in console after every time you die/next round so you can have a good understanding of the hit values and it really does help improve your gameplay.

e.g. If you are having an AWP battle and you leg them, that means they are on 14 or 15 hp. That is your perfect opportunity to rush them with a glock and you cant go wrong unless they are a pro AWPer or something... but if that were the case, you'd be dead already because you're a noob that has to read a guide to CS:GO.

@playergamerer, The recording are done at pretty close range, either that or they have changed the power of it in a recent update. If you are standing say 20 meters away I think it does about 95 damage so you have to be very close to get the 1 hit kill

Uh, i'm 99.99 percent certain the info on the dualies is wrong.In my experience, the dualies get 2 shot headshots on armored targets.

Im pretty sure it means you do more damage shooting at the chest than for the head.
