Wolf's blood swordgrass-specific farming guide.

Introduction

I see why you are here, fellow undead. Tired of waiting for ages into the shrek's smelly swamp to be summoned just to lose to those meta gankers with hyperarmor maces, parry spammers, and come back home with nothing gained?
You probably want to get some of that juicy swordygrass to rank up in the Big bad wolf covenant and get those rewards, amirite? They told you a thousand times already, but the biggest weapon of your arsenal is not that heavy greatsword, but your patience. Indeed, if you manage to scavenge the stuff I am gonna tell you and you start killin a few hundred ghrus, you can have those bloody metal leaves pretty easily with some patience.

(1) Setting up

To optmize your chances of getting what you want, we must first gear up.

We first want to increase our item discovery stat, and we are gonna do that by either investing points in luck attribute ( NOT RECOMMENDED), or getting items that increase it.

There are 5 items in total that will help you ( the more of those items you manage to equip, the greater the effect on the item discovery stat ):

- Covetous gold serpent ring ( http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Covetous+Gold+Serpent+Ring) ;

- Crystal sage's rapier ( http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Crystal+Sage's+Rapier)

NOTE: can be equipped in one hand while using the other weapon 2h and will work the same;

- Symbol of avarice (http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Symbol+of+Avarice);

- Rusted coin (http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Rusted+Coin)

NOTE: either get those from Patches once he is in firelink shrine or kill him there to get his ashes and make the handmaid sell them for you. You will need those in big quantity, but fear not, for they are cheap and you will farm more souls than you can spend on coins. The coins do not stack if you use multiple at the same time.

- Rusted gold coin ( http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Rusted+Gold+Coin);

NOTE: i do not recommend using them for they are rare to find and so can't be used consistently in those long farming sessions, unless you are at late game and you get the Old woman's ashes (http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Old+Woman's+Ashes).

(2) Farming the swordgrass

Get your rear to the KEEP RUINS bonfire ( http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/bonfires).

Equip all of the ID (item-discovery)-buffing stuff previously quoted you managed to find ( even if you couldnt get it all).
You are aiming at repetitively and efficiently killing the three ghrus ( the infected scumbags) on the bridge in front of you. Everytime you rest at the bonfire to respawn them, use a Rusted coin to temporarily buff your ID and maximise the effect of the other items ( REMEMBER THE COINS DONT STACK IF YOU CONSUME MULTIPLES AT THE SAME TIME).

Use the weapon you prefer, but to be really efficient i recommend using some spell or specifically the Great Chaos Fire Orb pyromancy (http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Great+Chaos+Fire+Orb) on the right hand while holding the crystal sage rapier in the left.

NOTE: If you already have it, you can equip the Covetous silver serpent ring ( http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Covetous+Silver+Serpent+Ring) to profit more on the SOULS of the poor ghrus you will continuosly slay, to gain souls and at the same time try to get this bloody swordgrass. Furthermore equip the Farron covenant to have a chance to be summoned for some pvp and perhaps win a swordgrass and spare some minutes of farming.

If you get most of the items i mentioned ( I repeat, even if you didn't collect them all), in a couple of hours of PATIENCE you should be able to collect enough swordgrass ( 30) to advance to rank 2 in the covenant.

I made this guide when i noticed the lack of a detailed Wolf's blood swordgrass farming guide on steam, after searching for one and not finding it. Swordgrass is probably one of the hardestly-farmable objects in the game, and gives hell to any achievement collector, so i decided to collect informations and put them together here for the fellow undeads.
