Wa-Swahili, "shore people", designates the inhabitants of the East African coastline, and signifies above all a culture with a common language, Kiswahili, and the same religion, Islam. The medieval sites along the Swahili Coast represent a single cultural tradition with diverse local traditions that can be traced to the ninth century, which is considered to have developed into the modern Swahili culture. Currently, there are 173 identified settlements that flourished along the Swahili Coast and nearby Islands from the ninth to the seventeenth centuries, which include the sites of Kilwa, Malindi, Gedi, Pate, Comoros, and Zanzibar.

Sultan al-Hasan ibn Sulaiman, often referred to as "Al-Mawahib" ("father of gifts"), was the ruler of the city-state of Kilwa, from 1310 until 1333. Sultan al-Hasan ibn Sulaiman is reported to have have been a generous and intelligent man. Numerous construction projects took place during his reign, including the building of the Palace of Husuni Kubwa and a significant extension to the Great Mosque of Kilwa.

Swahili:

Unique Ability: Coral Construction - Districts in coastal Cities receive a Major adjacency bonus from the City Center, and a standard bonus from being adjacent to a Harbor. +2 Production from Reefs.

Unique Unit: Jahazi - Naval support unit, unique to the Swahili. Embarked units within 2 tiles ignore terrain costs and receive +1 Movement. Has 2 charges to build Fishing Boats. Fishing Boats built by a Jahazi yield +1 Production, +2 Gold. Unlocks with Sailing.

Unique Building: Pillar Tomb - A building unique to the Swahili. It is cheaper than the Monument which it replaces. +1 Culture, +1 Loyalty. International Trade Routes from this city generate +1 Gold, +1 Culture for each of this city’s districts that are within 2 tiles of the City Centre.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Al-Hasan ibn Sulaiman:

Leader Ability: Palace of Husuni Kubwa - Harbours adjacent to a Wonder provide +1 Trade Route Capacity. Patronage of Great People costs 20% less Gold.

Agenda: Father of Gifts - Dislikes civilizations who are competing for Great People if they do not develop their cities. Admires civilizations that maintain the maximum number of districts in most cities and is home to many Great People.

Notes:
The Swahili use Persia's music. The mod should be playable without the Persia DLC, but there will be no music.

As the UA's adjacency bonus is done via modifiers, the bonus will not display in the UI unless you use Simple UI Adjustments. ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/itemedittext/?id=939149009 )

The Zanzibar City-State is renamed Ternate
This leader is not animated.

Should this work with the map tacks mod? I don't see it showing the yields.

I'd love an Indian Ocean tsl with this mod. Well done.

Fantastic mod! Love playing alongside him. It appears in my current game that the flavor text for opinion bonuses & penalties from his Father of Gifts agenda is backwards; when he's angry, it's because he appreciates my great people and beautiful cities, but when he's happy, it's because he's annoyed I'm cramming my great people into underdeveloped cities.

Such a fun civ! Would love for it to be compatible with True start location in YNAMP.

The ignoring terrain cost bonus from the Jahazi seems to persist for land units even after they've disembarked. I embarked a warrior and archer within 2 tiles of a Jahazi and now they're able to pass through flat woods/jungle for 1 movement point.

FYI. The major adj from the coastal City Center applies to the Harbor in addition to the major adj you get from having a harbor adj to your City Center. So you get +4 from just having a harbor adj to your city.

Guys just download Simple UI Adjustments mod and the adjacency will appear in both the Jahazi and the districts. you will find the link in the description of the mod (in the Notes section). the only thing that doesn't work is the gold bonus from trade routes when you have fishery on bonus resource which isn't a big deal.

@Phantasmal tested it myself just now, adjacency works, just that it doesn't show when you're placing the district

The major adjacency to districts adjacent to the city center in coastal districts is bugged. It doesn't provide the +2.

Like suicide dumpling, jahazi does'nt provide the described yield :/ Could you fix this please ? Neither shown on the map, neither in description in the yield of the city
Otherwise this Civ is really great
