Destroying Tool Cupboards

Updated 4th July 2018. A list of how much damage each weapon inflicts against tool cupboards. Tool cupboards cost 1,000 wood and have 100 hitpoints. The tool cupboard doesn't seem to have a weak side.

Explosives
  • Timed Explosive Charge: 100+dmg (!) (1 charge)

! Inflicts splash damage to building parts.

Notes:
Right-clicking grenades will cause them to stick to building walls, but they don't stick to tool cupboards. If you stand too close to the placing point when trying to lay a landmine then it can't be placed. You can trigger a landmine by shooting it multiple times rather than stamping on it.
Low Grade Fuel
  • Flamethrower: 0.62dmg - 2.2dmg (~60 fuel)
  • Chainsaw: 0.7dmg (143 fuel)

Note:
A burst of 13 fuel starts a fire. Don't be too close to the fire or you'll burn yourself. The longer the fuel burst, the more damage seems to be inflicted per fuel spent. A a single burst of 65 fuel should be more than enough to destroy a tool cupboard, while 45 is probably too little. Chainsaws seem to be better suited to resource-gathering than raiding.

  • Mace: 0.25dmg (31 maces) 13 hits per weapon
  • Combat Knife: 0.235dmg (25 knives) 17 hits per tool
  • Butcher Knife: 0.23dmg (17 knives) 26 hits per tool
  • Stone Spear: 0.16dmg (63 spears) 10 hits per weapon
  • Wooden Spear: 0.16dmg (33 spears) 19 hits per weapon

Note:
Fire Arrows might spark a fire which falls and can damage furniture and players, but not building parts. The Tool Cupboard probably won't take damage from the fire unless you fire above the Tool Cupboard (in which case the fire might fall onto the Tool Cupboard and deal 15 damage over time).

Note:
Incendiary pistol bullets can start fires, but they tend to fly away from where the shot impacts. These damage values seem inconsistent, as the first time I tested a Python revolver it was 2dmg per shot, and the next time it was dealing 2.6dmg.
Notes
Popular methods for destroying a tool cupboard might be a satchel charge, or 5 hatchets, or fire 20 buckshot shells. An alternative method of destroying a tool cupboard would be to destroy the foundation it stands on.

I just retested it, seems to still be 4dmg per shot. Make sure you're shooting the cupboard and not a lock that might be on it. Is it damaging the TC at all?

I shot well over 26 handmade shells with the pipe shotgun and it didn't break, can you help?

This is wrong. You said the fire from fire arrows doesn't damage to tool cupboard. If you shoot at a wall above it and the fire falls on the tc then it will in fact damage it. You don't have to update this just edit it and tell people it's outdated.

Some info is wrong. Destroying a tool cupboard with incindiary shotgun shells doesn't take more than 4-5. The fire left behind burns aswell.
