What is Conflict in Space?

This is a mod for the original version of Empire at War, dating back way before Forces of Corruption expansion even existed and pioneering many features which the developers would later end up implementing in Forces of Corruption, such as Fighters in Ground Combat as well as Orbital Bombardment feature, Super Star Destroyer sized ships such as the Executor-class, fully functional Death Star II with manual precise targeting superlaser and more.

Mod greatly enhances the original Empire at War experience thanks to all the new features and units and is fully playable along with its new features in Galactic Conquest, Skirmish AND Campaign modes - the last one is something that very few mods can brag about especially when it comes to not breaking the Campaign scripting.

Based on last officially available version of the mod - Version 5.1 and therefore identical to it, this is merely the Steam Workshop release for compatibility with the new version of the game.

- Manual Targeting Superlaser: carried by Death Star II and can target larger ships
- Orbital Bombardment: replaces Bombing Run when Bombardment capable ship is in orbit

- Admiral Piett: Super Star Destroyer "The Executor" with Commander Bonus and Power to Weapons ability
- Captain Needa: Imperial Star Destroyer "The Avenger" that's faster and more manoeuvrable
- Grand Admiral Thrawn: Officer-type that greatly boosts effectiveness of ships and has Ship Reveal ability
- Mara Jade: Ground-type that uses modified Z-95 Fighter in space

Rebellion:
- General Jan Dodonna: Officer-type with Ship Reveal and Find Weakness abilities
- Kyle Katarn: Ground-type that uses unique ship Moldy Crow in space
- NRS "The Mediator": Super Battle Cruiser with Heavy Ion Cannon ability


Running the Mod

To play: After subscribing, make sure to let the download finish (see your Steam download manager, it'll say at the bottom of your Steam client), then launch Empire at War (NOT Forces of Corruption). Once ingame, go to the Options menu, then Mods, and enable it from there.

If the game doesn't re-launch when you enable the mod ingame, or you want to just directly launch into the mod, go to the properties for Empire at War in Steam and paste the following into launch options (without quotation marks):
"Modpath=..\..\..\workshop\content\32470\1125778897"

ALSO THERE IS ONE ISSUE IF YOU ARE PLAYING EMPIRE:

You need to be careful for K-Wings, these are genuinely too overpowered but other than that everything else is fine

Honestly this mod is amazing. It's decent size, you get quality units that match vanilla for both the rebellion & the empire. Very vanilla friendly if you're looking for a mod that isn't a revamp.

i love this mod but the space battles are frustrating if your the empire. the super star-destroyer is almost impossible to bring in as a reinforcement. its too large to find a spot half the time and very hard to see it lit to tell you your in a place to place it.

in campaign you cannot build any ships of this mod? but the AI can?

Unfortunately somehow FoC is corrupted and I can only play EaW (I know its more than likely mod related) and am very happy to find this mod. I do wish that in the future you could maybe add the feature to send in only one ship/unit when going in for a space battle? not sure if that's possible with EaW, thanks for your hard work nonetheless!
