MMLC1/MM1-6 Boss Weaknesses and Orders
By Shmooooey
Although, it's too late for me to create such a guide, when there are already so many out there, but, what the hell?

The following guide will showcase the weaknesses of Robot Masters, Sub-Bosses, Bosses and some other special bosses, as well as the orders, from which Robot Master you should start off.
Numbers in brackets indicate how much damage that particular weapon deals to the enemy

Rock Man 1/Mega Man 1

Order: Bomb -> Guts -> Cut -> Elec(Magnet Beam) -> Ice -> Fire

Pros
Cons
Not Really Difficult Order
Bomb Man takes 2x damage from Mega Buster
Super Arm before Magnet Beam

Bomb Man's Stage's Quite Difficult(for new players and inexperienced)

Alt 1: Guts -> Cut -> Elec(Magnet Beam) -> Ice -> Fire -> Bomb

Pros
Cons
Guts Man takes 2x damage from Mega Buster
Difficult platforming section right after you start the Guts Man's Stage

Alt 2: Cut -> Elec -> Elec(Magnet Beam) -> Ice -> Fire -> Bomb -> Guts

Pros
Cons
More or less, the Easiest Order
Cuts Man takes 3x damage from the Mega Buster and is really easy

Have to replay Elec Man's stage again in order to get the Magnet Beam

Weak Against
Yellow Devil
Thunder Beam(4) or Mega Buster/Rolling Cutter/Fire Storm(2)
Copy Robot
Hyper Bomb/Fire Storm/Thunder Beam(2)
CWU-01P/Engines in Bubble
Mega Buster(for first 3 bubbles) then Super Arm(the remaining 4)
Wily Machine 1(Phase 1)
Fire Storm(4/per hit)
Wily Machine 1(Phase 2)
Rolling Cutter/Thunder Beam(1/per hit)

* For CWU-01P, each CWU-01P unit has 10 HP (though it is actually 20 in the game's coding); however, 4 units of damage will be taken from the total health meter for each unit destroyed, regardless of which Special Weapon the player uses against them. For this reason, damage values displayed are those against each unit.
* For Wily Machine 1(Phase 2), every weapon, except Ice Slasher and Super Arm(possibly also Hyper Bomb) deals 1 damage. However, TB/RC/FS are recommended to use against this boss, due to the fact, that they hit more than once:
- Rolling Cutter: Hits boss twice or, if aimed correctly, thrice or more. Requires getting closer to Wily
- Thunder Beam: Hits boss twice

I also tried using Fire Storm up close to Wily, but it's more difficult or even impossible to avoid getting hit.
Rock Man 2/Mega Man 2: Mystery of Dr. Wily

Honestly, I don't know any order that works great on difficult

Order: Air(Item-2) -> Crash -> Flash(Item-3) -> Quick -> Metal -> Bubble -> Heat(Item-1) -> Wood

Pros
Cons
Works Great on Normal
Works Good on Difficult
Air Man takes 2x Damage(4x on Normal)
Item-2 before Heat Man

Air Man's Air Tornadoes are HARD to avoid without taking damage

Alt 1: Metal -> Bubble -> Flash(Item-3) -> Wood -> Air(Item-2) -> Heat(Item-1) -> Crash -> Quick

Pros
Cons
The EASIEST order on Normal
Works OK on Difficult
Item-2 before Heat Man
Not the best way to start the game on Hard, but nothing difficult

Crash Bomber(8/4) or Atomic Fire(2:6:28/1:3:14)
Wily Machine 2(Phase 2)

Bubble Lead(2/1)

* For Weapons, the first number is damage done on Normal; second on Difficult
* For Atomic Fire, the first number is the standard shot; second is when it is charged more; third number is when it is fully charged.
* Damage values for Picopico-kun apply to each unit. Destroying one will deplete the health bar by two units each.
* Time Stopper freezes every boss except for Boobeam Trap. Its animation will be frozen, but it will continue to fire regularly.
Rock Man 3/Mega Man 3: The End of Dr.Wily!?

Order: Top -> Shadow(Rush Marine) -> Spark -> Magnet -> Hard -> Snake -> Gemini -> Needle(Rush Jet)

Pros
Cons
Top Man is an easy boss and so is his stage
Top Man takes 2x Damage from Mega Buster

Possible difficulties at the end of Magnet Man's and Spark Man's Stages

Alt 1: Magnet -> Hard -> Top -> Shadow(Rush Marine) -> Spark -> Snake -> Gemini -> Needle(Rush Jet)

Pros
Cons
Magnet Missile is a great weapon
Magnet Man takes 2x damage from Mega Buster

Magnet Man might give you some trouble
Possible difficulties at the end of Magnet Man's and Spark Man's Stages

Alt 2: Top -> Shadow(Rush Marine) -> Snake -> Gemini -> Needle(Rush Jet) -> Magnet -> Spark -> Hard

Pros
Cons
Rush Jet before Spark Man and Magnet Man's Stages
All of the previous pros

I didn't come up with any tbh

Tip: Mega Man 3's Robot Maser Weakness Cycle(or cycles) are way different than in the other games(except MM8, which is more or less same). There are 2 weakness cycles:
Hard, Magnet, Shadow, Spark and Top and Gemini, Needle, Snake. You can always switch back and forth. Example: If you find Spark Man's stage difficult without Rush Jet(like me), you can switch orders, like this: Continue with "Cycle 1" until Spark Man, stop, then Start "Cycle 2", finish Needle Man off and start Spark Man with Rush Jet.

Gamma(Phase 1)
Hard Knuckle(4) or Shadow Blade(2)
Gamma(Phase 2)
Top Spin(2-28) or Search Snake(2)

* For Top Spin, more or less damage is inflicted depending on the proximity of the hit.
* For Wily Machine 3(Phase 2), using Rush Jet is actually pretty effensive, since you won't be hit and makes it an easy boss fight
Rock Man 4/Mega Man 4: A New Evil Ambition

Order: Toad(Rush Marine) -> Bright -> Pharaoh(Balloon) -> Ring -> Dust -> Skull -> Dive(Wire) -> Drill(Rush Jet)

Pros
Cons
Toad Man is Pathetically Easy

Ring Boomerang(4)
Wily Machine 4(Phase 1)
Ring Boomerang(3)
Wily Machine 4(Phase 2)
Drill Bomb(0:4)
Wily Capsule
Pharaoh Shot(2:6)

* For Wire Adaptor, it will deal 1 damage to EVERY boss, except Wily Capsule(0)
* For Mega Buster and Pharaoh Shot, their normal shot ALWAYS deal 1 damage and 3 for charged, except:
Mega Buster:
- Wily Capsule, 0:0
Pharaoh Shot:
- Ring Man, 2:6
- Skull Man, 0:0
- Square Machine, 0:0
- Cossack Catcher, 0:0
- Tako Trash, 0:0
- Wily Capsule 4-2, 0:0

* For Mega Buster and Pharaoh Shot, the first number is when the weapon is fired normally; the second is when it is fully charged
* For Drill Bomb, the first number is damage inflicted when hitting a boss directly with it; the second number is damage inflicted from the explosion itself by detonating a Drill Bomb next to the boss.
* Flash Stopper's offensive attack is an uncharged Mega Buster shot, so it can technically damage any boss that is damaged by the Mega Buster. However, Pharaoh Man becomes frozen by the flash, allowing Mega Man to score more hits without being attacked. In this case, the maximum damage that can be done in a single Flash Stopper activation is 7.
* Toad Man's Rain Flush will always override Mega Man's. If both attack with it at the same time, or one right before the other, Mega Man's Rain Flush will be canceled.
* Damaging the 2nd phase of Wily Machine 4 with the uncharged Mega Buster, Ring Boomerang, Dust Crusher, or unexploded Drill Bomb requires an elevating item, such as Rush Coil or the Balloon.
Rock Man 5/Mega Man 5: Proto Man's Trap

Order: Star(Super Arrow, M) -> Gravity(M) -> Gyro(Rush Jet, A) -> Crystal(V) -> Napalm(N) -> Stone(G) -> Charge(A) -> Wave(E)

Alt 2: Gravity(M) -> Gyro(Rush Jet, A) -> Crystal(V) -> Napalm(N) -> Stone(G) -> Charge(A) -> Wave(E) -> Star(Super Arrow, M)

* For Mega Buster, the first number is when the weapon is fired normally; the second is when it is fully charged.
* Mega Buster will ALWAYS deal 1 damage with normal shot and 3 with charged to ANY enemy
* For Rush Power Adaptor, the first number is with uncharged shots; the second number is damage inflicted from partially charged shots; third number is when it is fully charged and it always deals:
- 2:3:2 to ANY Robot Master
- 2:3:4 to ANY Boss, except 2:3:1 to Mechazaurus
* After Plant Man fires his barrier, he will be frozen in a specific pose until the barrier leaves the screen. Striking him with a fully-charged Power Adapter shot will interrupt this code and cause him to jump again, without a barrier. When he lands, the barrier firing sound will play again and he will resume his attack pose.
* Power Piston changes its direction when hit with a fully-charged Power Adaptor shot.
* A fully-charged Power Adapter shot can be used to deflect Mechazaurus's platforms at it, inflicting 1 unit of damage against it.

Oh, I didn't know you could remote detonate the drill bomb. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks! And you're supposed to detonate it, when it is close to the machine's weak spot

Let me start off by saying thank you for such a great, informative guide! It's helped me master the first three Mega Man games so far! I'm going to use this guide for the remaining three as well.

I do have one correction to submit: In Mega Man 4, the second stage of the Dr. Wily machine cannot be harmed by the drill bomb. The charged mega buster is the only thing that works

For alt-1 Flame man will put up a good fight, but if you stand 2 pillars (the background) away from him then you will always dodge the flame blasts. Amazing guide! iv'e been using this for my whole playthrough of the games! :energy_tank: for you!

You must not let them stop you from walking, furret! In all reality, I usually try to kill bottom 2, jump from the top one who tries to dive-bomb you, and run straight ahead
