Tracking progress on the Time Cruncher achievement
Supreme Commander 2 - Time Cruncher Achievement

In order to get the Time Cruncher achievement, you need to play 24 hours or more. Keep in mind, this only counts for Skirmish/Online matches, Single Player is NOT included

Even if it's not possible ingame to see how much time you have played so far on Skirmish/Online, it is still possible to check this:

In your LocalAppData there is a file called "Game.Prefs", it can be found in C:\Users\*YOUR USERNAME*\AppData\Local\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander 2. *YOUR USERNAME* is your user account you use on the computer.

After opening the "Game.prefs" file, search for 'total_time_played'. One result should show with a value, this value is showed in seconds and miliseconds, in example "51598.09375". Ignore the numbers after the dot, so following the example you should end up with "51598".

Now, to convert this amount into hours, divide this number by 3600. Using the example, it should show 14,33 hours, meaning you still need to play 10 hours more. The minimum amount of seconds to get the achievement is 86400. These seconds are ingame seconds, meaning that if you put it on "fast", you should get this achievement in a jiffy.

Make sure you do not save the file upon closing.

Obtain the Time Cruncher Achievement
Easiest way to do is as follow:

  • Select the map Seton's Clutch.
  • Set 1 enemy on easy mode on the other side of the map.
  • Set speed to "Fast".
  • Make sure exclusions are set to "No Research / Everything Unlocked" and "No Naval".
  • Build up your own base, kill all buildings/units from him except Mass Extractors.

Ones you have done the list above, all you have to do is wait until the ingame clock have done about 3-4 hours, then kill off the mass extractor(s) and win the round. After that, check your game.prefs file and look how much time remaining you have. The reason why I suggest 3-4 hours is that you can do it in multiple matches, instead of trying to get in one long match with the chance of your game crashing.

There is an easy way to get this achievement, no fuss and crap needed.

Start skirmish, easy AI, corner them anyhow you want or leave a building alive in supremacy mode.

Have gamespeed turned up to the very max.
That means time will go 10x as fast.
24 hours will pass in 2.4 hours, just wait it out, done!

@Zesc7; True, but anything but Multiplayer games does not count, so Single Player does not count, idling does not count, spectating does not count, that's why.

Well... Steam keeps track of your total gametime (yet also counting indling in menus thought), and people not having the steam version won't reall bother for the steam achievement (or loomup in steam guides), huh?

And i personally haven't seen any 100% guides for SupCom2 in the community hub, and i'm checking it quite often. (Gotta keep track of other guides competing with mine. :steammocking:)
There are 2 guides about the "Completionist" achievement, yet that one is only for the campaign.

@Zesc7: Thank you for your kind feedback. I wrote this guide because SC2 does not show the stats ingame.

You are right, playing that amount of games will get you quite far towards the achievement.

Since no-one wrote how to keep track of this achievement, I wrote a guide for it. There are already a few 100% achievement guides on Steam, so I see no point of doing another one.

Whilst i'm curious why anyone should have problems getting that particular achievement if they're going to 100% this game, (winning on every map/ 25 skirmishes/ 10 co-op games/ 25 ranked games is gonna take a while) i have to certainly admit this is a well-written and informative guide.

Are you planning on doing a full achievement guide?
