Hotchkiss Light Machine Gun, model 1926.

The commercial successor to the portative, Hotchkiss was unsuccessful in selling contracts to any of the major powers, rather, it was adopted by various weaker states usually with customizations to suit the buyer. This particular one was modeled off the Turkish versions. They were originally chambered in 8mm Mauser (same as a k98 or MG42), and had a variable rate of fire via the selector wheel on the right side in front of the trigger. It uses the same strips that all hotchkiss guns and some later Japanese machine guns use


Features:

Opening/closing doors on both sides of the gun for the strips - IRL the right side one would stay opened or closed while the left side door would have a spring keeping it closed, so it would only open as a strip was fed from the right to the left out of the gun, snapping shut.

Seperate/moving cocking handle on the right side

Rail Mount - in the same style as the S&K scope mounts one is included to take the place of the original leaf sight.

Bipod mounts - Bipod legs are usually attached to the studs in front of the cooling fins, but they have been ommited for a couple reasons. Easy to add should bipod functionality ever be put in game. In the same vein, its quite close to being usable as a quick change barrel as it would be originally

Raisable buttplate - originals had a spring loaded buttplate to keep it between vertical for normal shooting and horizontal for prone shooting - having it rest on your top your shoulder.

Tons of detail all over the gun

Original anti aircraft mounts are on the gun for easy addition later on - I may do this. Vertical grip had variations and I may make another in the future.


EDIT 1/1/19: Further research indicates belts did exist this gun could likely use instead of the strips.
