A silver's guide to the R8 Revolver

It's high noon somewhere!

This guide will show you tips and tricks on how to be a f**king cowboy.

You may be saying: "Spagoot, you're a silver! I don't want to listen to your trash advice!"

Well f**k you, I'm at least decent enough to get 1st or 2nd frag in my games. Also, I have 2000+ on my Stattrak revolver.

About the R8

Unlike any of the other weapons in the game, the R8 requires you to hold down M1 to fire it. In exchange, it has the moving accuracy of a standing deagle, with even higher damage. Its alt-fire(right-click) does not have the delay and fires faster, but consistently has the accuracy of a moving deagle.

Assuming that you hit the chest, the R8 deals about 67-86 damage to armored opponents, and is juuust below a 100 to unarmored. Headshots are always insta-kills, as well as getting a gut/nutshot at extremely close ranges.

It has very little ammunition(8 per cylinder, only 1 spare), making accuracy fairly important.

Tips on using the damn thing

Because of the firing delay, the R8 cannot react immediately to enemies. It works best from cover and when you know where the enemy is(allows you to prime a shot before peeking), but also works fairly well for sneak attacks because of the heavy slow it applies.

The R8 will kill in 2 shots anywhere on the enemy. While it's good to aim for headshots, the 2-shot kill is usually much easier to get.

Almost any combination of damage and 1 bullet from the R8 will result in a kill: 1 bullet from a rifle, 1-2 bullets from an SMG... hell, you could even donk them in the head with a grenade and kill them. This works well with HE grenades--bounce it off a wall to get a quick kill as you turn a corner.

Since movement has very little effect on your accuracy, if at all, keep moving. It'll make you a more difficult target.

Struggling to do something? Try to understand why you're struggling with it, then practice! Flailing wildly and just giving up are equally as bad.

The thing containing the rounds is called cylinder. Please try to use the correct terminology when talking about guns (yes that also counts for virtual ones)
