Skyrim Timed AutoSave Helper (STASH)

Description
Tired of forgetting to Quicksave and having to replay long segments
of the game? Don't like the Autosave implemented by the game? Well,
now you have an alternative. This mod implements a timed autosave
system in 15 minute time periods.

Be aware that there a couple of exceptions - While you in a crafting
menu (Alchemy, Enchanting, Armour, Weapon, etc.) or in a dialogue
with any NPC, if the time comes when an autosave would occur, it
will be bypassed & reset the timer. This is because the game gives no
way to determine when you are in these situations. Otherwise, if you
are in other menus, like Inventory, Barter, etc or in combat, the
autosave will still occur when exiting those menus/combat.

Be sure to disable the 4 game Autosave options in Settings/Gameplay
to prevent conflicts.

I have verified that the following DOES work:

Add this to your Skyrim.ini in My Docs>MyGames>Skyrim to have as many autosaves as you want:
[SaveGame]
iAutoSaveCount=6

So with this mod & the above ini change, you will have timed autosave & however many save versions you like.

More timed version options are available at:

Well done Smirenka, !! I've been looking for this bug for YEARS! I had and inclining of the problem, but what was it that pointe you to exacatly why the Autosave was corrupted? All I found was the size of the save that set off my warning flags here...a small save obvioulsy does not reset the game right...:steamhappy:

In response to the schlub below me. You are apparently unaware, but saving in the same slot repeatedly (For example, using the quicksave button regularly) corrupts your save files over time. That's why there are mods like this, kid.

BTW rated down for being useless.

The game has a built in auto save feature that activates every 15 mins when you are in a menu. This mod is completely worthless and useless. I suppose maybe only idiots who somehow forgot to quicksave could use this...that's it really.
Why would anyone want it?

Every second would be good so if you die you load backup in the fight

How can we make it save more often than 5 minutes? Every minute would be good

Any chance of getting a 5 minute version uploaded to the Steam Workshop? I prefer the workshop for managing my mods over Nexus.

I would love this, but 15 minutes is actually a LONG time... especially with how often my game can freeze up sometimes. Is there a way to get this with an adjustable time frame? preferably as low as 60-90 seconds

I'm having trouble with it. It worked fine yesterday, but today it's stopped making autosaves. I don't think anything even changed with my mods between yesterday and today. I tried a clean save, and now it repeats the "you are using the 5 minute timed autosave helper" message every second or so, and then it started making an autosave every second after a while.
