Description
Now officially in the game! (2018/04/30)

"Sacrificial insemination"

Adds a brand new follower to the Treasure Room pool!

When Isaac takes damage, Mystery Egg breaks and releases a charmed enemy. The type of enemy spawned depends on how many rooms have been cleared with the familiar (see below).

Spawned monsters have more health than normal.

Synergizes with BFFS!: spawned enemies turn into a random champion type.

Used to be part of StrawPack 2!

List of possible charmed enemies:

  1. Level 0: 0 to 1 rooms cleared (inclusive):



  2. Level 1: 2 to 4 rooms cleared (inclusive):



  3. Level 2: 5 to 7 rooms cleared (inclusive):



  4. Level 3: 8 to 10 rooms cleared (inclusive):



  5. Level 4: 11 to 13 rooms cleared (inclusive):



  6. Level 5: more than 13 rooms cleared:


Note: some monsters can turn into other variants, e.g: Mulligans -> Mulligoon, Mulliboom, meaning the list is slightly longer than the one above.

@pimhazeveld I'm pretty sure that means the developers generally polished and improved the animations of the mystery egg itself to better fit the style of binding of isaac, since a lot of artists/creators have their own unique artstyle.

@K1ll3rgurk3, go to Armored Hearts' mod folder and open main.lua with any text editor. Go to line 182 where it says "function ArmoredHearts:OnDamageTaken". You'll see two "return true" on lines 184 and 202. Change those two trues to nil so it reads "return nil" instead of "return true". Then either exit the game and reopen it or disable and enable modding support again (so it reloads it).

@K1ll3rgurk3, yup I just tested it and came to that conclusion too. There's an easy fix in that mod's code that would let Mystery Egg and other modded items that rely on taking damage to work properly. I could tell you how to quickly fix it in Armored Hearts if you want. Then they would both work.

@K1ll3rgurk3, can you see if there are any errors in your log.txt file found under Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+/log.txt? Does the familiar show up at all? Or does it never crack when you take damage?
