Bad Login/Password Error Fix

For those of you, who created an online profile a while back and returned to the game only to find that your login doesn't work.

How to restore access to your account without loosing progress.

Step 1. Back up your entire "x:/users/username/documents/Sniper - Ghost Warrior" folder.
Step 2. Launch the game and DELETE the account.
Step 3. Create a new account with exactly the same Login, Password and E-Mail. IMPORTANT NOTE: Select "NO" when prompted to remember password.
Step 4. After you loged in with this new, empty account, select "Player Profiles" and agree to be logged out.
Step 5. Exit the game.
Step 6. Delete entire "x:/users/username/documents/Sniper - Ghost Warrior" folder.
Step 7. Restore backup copy of this folder you made in Step 1.
Step 8. Launch the game and login normaly. Your saves, stats and settings should be working.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

TO PREVENT THIS BUG FROM HAPPENING AGAIN, ALWAYS SELECT "PLAYER PROFILES" IN THE MAIN MENU TO LOGUOT BEFORE EXITING GAME!!!

Closing comments.

If you forgot to logout before exit or your PC crashed, the bug will most likely return and you will have to do steps 1-8 again.

This is a 5-year old guide for a very specific login issue, that existed at that time and probably has been patched years ago.

None of the above worked for me. Right after installation I received a system notification (which I couldn't read at that moment), but I didn't pay too much attention to it. Later I found out that my antivirus has blocked the write access to the c:\users\my username\documents folder and the game couldn't create the profile. After enabling the access from my antivirus, the game worked fine.

i have new dvd rom form internet shop. Inside box have cd key to this game.Problem is in DVD install steam acount..loading loading 27 % update steam..and later error.

must off proxy? i have in www,but again this same problem..from cd do acount steam..nothing change.I have new game,cd key ahh .Sorry not practice at this day english

I small tip for your profile:
Find the Sniper: Ghost Warrior folder in "My Documents"
Navigate into the "Profiles" folder.
Open the related file in Textpad/Wordpad/etc.
Search "password"
Your password will be displayed in plain letters to the right of "password".

You may need to click on textpad for the characters to load.

I hope I don't really need to mention you should only do this to retrieve your own account information. No stealing info from someone who shares your computer.
The profile can only be downloaded between computers if SteamCloud is on, so its not a major security breach.

I can't log in! I've tried to create again an account and said " server doesn't respond" or something! I was playing few days SGW too perfect... then I don't know what happened... I've tried log in again and it doesn't work!
