Quite disappointed. The Hype, high review scores and Trailers, was all looking very promising and good. Problem is ... it is mainly a lightly polished CK2.

- The AI is as dumb as a donkey. Watching you loose a war, standing one county away with 10000 men not caring, while you are loosing a fight with 5000 men vs 7000 which you would have easiely one with their help. The Viking AI on the other hand (876 start Date) Rampages through all of Europe! I basicly spend 18 hours already restarting (tried Spain/Ireland/England diffrent Rulers) because if you aren't lucky and focused on expanding FAST you will be assimilated by the Borg oh wait .... Vikings ... and if they don't get you your neighbours will just because they are trying to avoid getting assimilated by the Vikings!

- That it STILL is not possible to see first glance if your full army is at war with the enemy army approaching you is quite a joke after all that Knowledge they accumilated via the other games in this Series.

- Removing even the Option, that Armies spawn in their own county doesn't even make the slightest sense to me. THAT was one of the stratigical Warfare things in CK 2. Yes it makes it easier for new folks to this game, but not every one is new to this game ...

- Would have hoped that Intrigues would have gotten harder ... Makes no sense that someone with not even the slightest knowledge of the Language starts with a 95% Sucess chance

- The UI had quite some Changes, but not nescessariely for the better... Was there a Reason the Home Button was removed ?
Why is it still not possible in 2020 to search for Multiple Traits via a OR function and not ONLY via an AND function...
Where is the Mini Map gone ? Yeah i know that i can scroll out like a mad man and have some kind of a mini map that way, but in CK2 you had both and could just click in the mini map to roughly jump to where you'd wanna go and didn't have to scorll in/out so you could still se armies and stuff.
If you get a new stat like Control which isn't not important why can't you just, via a click like for culture and Religion, put a filter over the map for control ?

- and then there is stuff that simply doesn't make Sense like you can't pick a focus (which determines which direction the eduaction will go) for kids under an Age of 6? Why ? if i give my 5 year old kid a doll or a football or a toy sword ofc that kind of changes the preferences ...

- The Leagacies and Tribal Progressions look very interesting first glance but are mroe or less Time Gates if you start as a Tribal Ruler. I started 867 as High Chief of Meath (Ireland) and am almost at 1066 and i am far from getting those Irish Feudal altough i am ruling over whole Great Britan. If i wanted to get them Feudal i would need to change my Capital to a Location that was Feudal at the start Date.

- Once you expanded your Dynasty a bit the Game gets boring FAST! you simply produce as many Kids as you can marry them off for Alliances and if that is not enough you just call your House Members into war and sooner or later you are able to Steam roll whole of Europe.

I could go on and on and on the longer i think about it the more frustrating it gets.

In the End i still play the game. I just would have hoped the changes would have been 'more' especialy that the AI is behaving like it was designed 2005 is a real Shame ...

Untill you realize all those HOLES in the Game you are well past the 2H mark of Steam and you are basicly sitting on a Game where Paradox bought Streamers via early Access and Sponsored Videos and you never (at least i didn't) heard a bad thing about CK3. In my humble Opinion this Game needs a WHOLE LOT of work before it even comes close to where my CK2 is atm with all those expansions and i guess i will have to buy a whole lot of Expansions again to get there. I for myself wouldn't have bought this game with all those 'Features' so I clicked 'wouldn't recommend' because i can't for 50 € ....

Besides the better Graphics ... just get the free CK2 and some expansions (plenty of Guides which ones are best out there) and you can get a better Game for like 20 €

I spend quite some Time in CK2 with only some Rulers, i think i already played more Rulers in CK3 and not because i wanted to.
I'm sorry for all those that wrote positive Reviews (or maybe happy if they still like it after playing some more) because they will have the same fall off i had (most likly). I started quite enthusiastic as well!

In the End the Trailer says it best ... starts out with 'What a Fool... blinded by his desire ....' Just don't look at all those 10/10 or 9x% Reviews because those were most likly written after like 10 hours of Gameplay or People that never played CK2

The last Patch killed a Game that was actually very much fun to play. Not only did they introduce Alliance Boni tiers (1 to 3) they even can now spawn in the first Creep round (ALL of them). They messed up the Hero Tiers (Trolls now have 1/1/2/5 good luck goin for Tier 2 Troll Bonus) Primordals are a near must have (Tier 2 Bonus is way to Strong). They changed a lot of Tiers completly unnessecary (like Goblins) and made common Stratagies just useless. All in all it is just a matter of pure luck if you even have a Chance of winning. The Randomness of hitting something usefull for your intended build, even if you keep it flexibel, is PURE Luck.
BTW was Boss 3 when Patch hit...

I will either go back to Dota Auto Chess or give TFT a Shot.. Maybe Valve did the same thing to their Auto Chess, that they did to their Card Game... Copy a good System (Dota Auto Chess) update/fix it. Release the first big Patch and mess up everything!

The Game itself is kinda fine. Some Bugs here and there but nothing major.

The Community on the other hand ... INCREDIBLEY Toxic, racist and childish. Either I'm getting to old for this stuff or parents should get a bit of control over what their children play ...
Then there is an obvious Problem of Hackers (Wall Hacks), Scripters (No_recoil-Scripts) and Cheaters.

All in all if you had a bad day at work and wanna go blow some steam off... go play something else ...
