The series is an animated comedy about a single father named Kakashi Hatake, who is raising three Genin. He can lose his patience sometimes, causing him to say “NARUTOO!!!”. There is a song in every episode. The series takes place in modern times and discusses modern topics such as Sasukes technology issues and school bullying. Others are parents embarrassing kids and parents needing dates. In it´s tenth episode Naruto shaves his head, his hair never grows back.

The real interesting thing to consider is, well, why do movies today rely on magical abilities in order to express the substance of the film? And the answer to this is that we are actually heading toward a new paganism. Our movies are turning into hero cults like in the Greco-Roman world, because this is the natural way for humans to understand things (polytheism). Ninjutsu abilities, divine provenance, relating heroes to the “mortal world”? This is pure paganism. Buying special objects of your favorite hero, pilgrimage to a temple (amusement park), setting your wallpaper as your character and his favorite ~spell~ quote (shrine), seeing how your heroes interact with other heroes in the Naruto “pantheon”, and going to special celebrations (episode premieres)? They are doing the same exact thing that pagans in the past have done. Corporations have realized that with the decline of monotheism we can just turn people into consumers of new religions, same as the old religions but less heterosexual
