Very careful thumbs up.

There were certain moments, within the game, which I enjoyed very much. But although this game has its distinct pros (playing on the evil side, crafting and managing dungeons, Richard Ridings voiceacting, etc.), the cons are sadly also quite noticeable:
- the game runs laggy (even on much better computers than mine);
- the actual gameplay is too hectic and features too many variables (spells, defences, constructs, potions, rituals, specials...);
- among these gameplay quirks there exists many which are practically negligible in actual gameplay, either requiring too specific situations to be used on or the effect can be bypassed by another much more efficient way (e. g. many of the potion effects seem rather weak and can also be created by rituals or spells, which in turn are gold-free);
- the unit movement/animation and the overall combat looks and feels like the units are skiing instead of fighting for their lives: the battles and the unit movement lack some punch (maybe the physics engine used wasn't the best choice for this game);
- the campaign missions feel rushed: there is rarely enough time to plan anything, meaning one just must have quick reflexes and love for ADHD-gameplay
- and lastly the most important aspect holding this game back: the game wants so hard to be the new Dungeon Keeper, but it just isn't as fun to play: whenever I play this game, I admire some of its features (replacing earth tiles comes to mind), but at the same time I wish I could include those features in the original Keeper-games instead of playing WFTO. The originals are more better-paced and do not have too many forced features in them. The graphics are also less cartoonish in them, which I prefer.

But still, this game is the best we had when dungeon-building and managing games come into question, so I have to recommend it for people who like those kinds of games... but with care. This is not Dungeon Keeper (although it has some of its charm): the game could be much more atmospheric and fluent experience than it actually is. For people who never played Dungeon Keepers (excluding that horrible mobile version, which should be sacrificed in the ritual altar for the dark gods), this game might fair much better in their eyes. But for me, I am a bit disappointed.
