This game scared the living ♥♥♥♥ out of me, but I beat both of my runs in single sittings because it just kept me hooked, Leon and Claire are extremely likeable characters, The game flows very well, and despite a few puzzles keeping me stuck, I didn't find myself getting too annoyed.

The weakest part of both runs are when progress and characters are taken from the player to play as side characters, Ada's section was quick and over quickly, but Sherry's section, while enjoyable the first time, gets old quickly, it's extremely easy to get a game over due to the trial and error nature of the hide and seek section and it murders the tension and flow of the section.

The umbrella lab and the plant zombies are horrific and a very strong ending to the game.

Lickers offer at the same time, some of the most tense moments of the game, having to move slowly through a room, trying not to alert -anything- to get them to stay docile is very enjoyable, however they often can randomly snap onto the player and just encourage the player to run through the room.

However, overall the game is wonderful

When I first started playing this game, I was furious, It felt like all the changes made were to simply slow down the game, to pad out the play time, However, after completing mission four, and finally having the full ammo cap, the game became far more fun, the pace picked up greatly, and missions became 10 times more fun, I blitzed through the last 3/4 of the game because it became so enjoyable, The music, Items to collect and story all added to this, I would say that DOOM Eternal is not better, nor worse than DOOM (2016) while things such as the removal of melee damage and the pistol are frustrating, additions such as the chainsaw gaining its own fuel as well as the new rune system, keeps the game enjoyable.

Eternal is filled with fan service, a lot of the weapons, demons and items resemble their DOOM and DOOM 2 counterparts, with things such as classic weapon poses, and sounds as well as the classic marine suit, the care and heart the game has been made with is shown.

8.5/10, A lot of fun.

But ♥♥♥♥ the marauder guy's a ♥♥♥♥.

This game was gifted to me by a friend, I probably wouldn't have picked it up in any other case, but I'm extremely thankful that I did get the chance to play this game. It's one of the few games in recent years to reduce to me full on tears with the story and characters present. With a wholesome nature and challenging puzzles, OneShot is a must have in every library.

10/10 Would play again but...you only have one shot...
