From my time playing the game I found quite a few bugs in the menus.
The actual GAME was fine, but with the menu so messed up it was unplayable on my mac laptop (the mini windows just refused to open!)
If it DID manage to get into the game it had sound.
On my PC desktop meanwhile it had the mini-windows but IT had no sound for the dialog!
This was EXTREMELY frustrating and no bug-testing would fix it (not even downloading or undownloading the leweder DLC)
If the game is under a buck and you got both a Mac and a PC- and are willing to re-play it on both (4 times on your mac blindly clicking if you want to hear all the voice-lines for the female path and then male path. But you'll probably start playing on the desktop where you can actually see the freaking menus and change your difficulty)
OVERALL-
Not recommended- too broken. I feel asleep trying to fix the game and can no longer return it. Don't make my mistake.

I've been hearing about Helltaker for quite a while now and I'm actually frustrated at myself for not playing sooner. This game is AMAZING! I'm surprised the developers aren't selling this for a buck or two, as it would be totally worth the price (and trust me, many bad games with less effort and love have tried to sell for a LOT more.)
The art is amazing, the plot is mainly simple and is easy to understand but there is slightly more going on for those who like to go for 100%
I didn't even realize I've been playing for 3 hours!
I have gotten 100%, couldn't figure out some puzzles myself (two to be exact) but I felt that it was very much my fault and not the games. When I was giving the solution it totally clicked.
Personally adored!

Undertale is an excellent game and for it's price of $10 it's worth a grab in my opinion if you like RPGs, interesting storytelling or jokes/riddles
To my understanding the Steam version may not be the best version of Undertale on the market, but that is up to you. Other ports have some different secrets and fights (Mad Mew I am pretty sure isn't on Steam and I'm 70% sure there are other console exclusive secrets)
But with the Steam version you can play around with the files easily which I have done and is quite fun which leads into the next-
You can also follow the Guides on Steam for some fun stuff, debug mode, ways to mess with your save file, ect.. Though I highly recommend not doing so on your first run, even if you've seen the game be played before/

I bought this game for $60 around when returns were added to Steam. I didn't know if it would run or not on my set-up. It didn't. But that turned out to be a good thing for me.
The creators are pretty anti-consumer;
Making DLC before the game is out of EA (Early Access)
Not informing users that the new DLC would become free later. (imagine paying $20 only to find out people got it for free later. I'd be pretty mad.)
Not fixing a multitude of bugs and continuing to make MORE DLC
Saying the game is out of EA when it's still extremely buggy.
Making a new game that turns out to be an Ark re-skin. Good way to milk your players of another $30 (and if the trend continues) to $60. When it could have been a DLC.
Banning a user for showing these bugs. (How dare you show that our game is buggy)

Over-all I don't want to support these developers myself at this time. I would HAPPILY change this review and rebuy the game if the developers shape up.
Note; I wanted to get the game as I watch a few Youtubers who seem to quite enjoy it. One of them has a fan-server and I had wanted to try and play. They show it in a very positive light. The 'buggyness' comment is from seeing other videos about the game and reading user's experience due to me not having been able to play myself.

I've played this game for what feels like years now and resently I ended up buying one of the DLC girls ad some gems (to get Rice girl)
I NEVER spend money on a free game (it's something I stick to mostly to the mobile game market) but chose to spend some extra cash in this one.
I was an unpaid player until a day or so ago and have 177.1 hours into this game and had gotten enough gems to speed up all of the Hobbies and quite a few of the jobs (I know now that speeding up the jobs isn't a good idea but too late for that now). Nonetheless it's pretty easy to get gems for free! If you want all of the skins, outfits, and characters* it may be a challange but you can total go without buying gems and the DLC characters.
*The Monster girls I got for free as I had gotten the outfits when they first came out from the event. I think for new users they would have to be bought now but I am not sure.
One last note; I know I have misspelled some things but it should be easy enough to read despite that.
