i only bought this game because i wanted to support the developer. since the developer was doxxed by angry twitter users and i hate that sh*t. Even if i bought this game only for a personal opinion, i really enjoyed the game. The characters are well thought out. The story is well thought out. I had a few laughs while playing and had a great time. I can't wait for chapter 3 to come out.

This games great. i have been playing this game on my steam deck. its been challenging and rewarding. you get upgrades just like "hollow knight's charms" that make you use them creatively to get by each boss. Timing and Memory is key. Its animation and hit boxes will need to be memorized and lots of time will be mandatory for learning the do's and don't. If that's too much for you then i suggest you look elsewhere. OK, now once out of the starting area the map will expand to pick your fights and search for secrets.

Its also true that there is lots of broken English in some sentences and would be jarring sometimes but as long as i get the gist of what its talking about its not really an issue. Occasionally there are some bugs so expected some jank but nothing that has crashed your experience. Unless you have issue with mean enemy placements because there is a lot of that in some areas. good luck.

Its such a shame that this game isn't shown to be completely positive in its review score so i'm throwing my review here and hopes it helps anyone.

This review is only a mention to steam deck users who want to play RE2.

The game runs well on steam deck as long as your not in the sewer section of the game. Frame rate drops significantly and your character needs to standstill to keep it from falling, make the necessary changes to steam deck graphics and cross your fingers. All other functions or locations in game have little to no studding in game and its still lots of fun.

The spirit of the nintendo 64 smiles upon this game. nuff said.

Language is a Labor of Love:

As a dual speaker different audio for different languages is a blessing when you see it. i love to be able to change to spanish audio to experience the same game differently, it just adds to a games replay ability in my perspective. also with added english subtitles just for those words that i'm not entirely aware of. 5 stars.

Easy to Start Hard to Master:

Now the game play is both rewarding and challenging with complexity to rhythm and beat. the added layer of the environment having both functionality and vivid expressiveness is just icing on the cake. I also have to note that the game did not punish me for being bad at the rhythm part of the game, witch was a god sen to someone like me who has not enjoyed rhythm games do to bad experiences with "Night in the Woods". With stress of my shoulders i have more time to develop strats to get to point A to point B. In the game combos can be purchased and then sold back in game to be able to pick and choose what combos i want or are hard for me to pull off on a moments notice adding to the game play style that you can produce in game witch is lovely to say the least.

Saturday Morning Cartoons

The story doesn't portray to be serious. Almost as if its very self aware of the comedic situation it finds itself in. A nice easy campy humor that doesn't feel forced. Just a cartoon i would watch to relax and feels like a good breath of fresh air after all the music that has griped you this whole time.

Music is Key

The music is best with recommended beats headphones or you choose of speakers. The music is constant in level and if you play with long stretches in mind you with feel exhausted by the end of it. If your playing on a steam deck (like how i am) your speakers would start staticing over time and that's just not great so i strongly discouraging not play without headphones.

so that's all i wanted to say i have not finished playing all of it but would update if anything else is worth mentioning but at the end of this review i would like to place this game as a 4 out of 5 stars.

An amazing visual and immersion feast for the eyes. Both in functionality and spectral ,this game has been fantastic to play with the added bonus that i have been playing on my steam deck that has run it with little to no issue. The story both rewarding and engaging with a feeling that remind me of stands from jojo's bizarre adventure but with curses. With the only feeling that one most have a "think outside the box thinking" when approaching some problems in game. A lovely game that is great worth of your time from lore and mystery abound.
