There should technically be no way this game should appeal to me.

I don't like Marvel or super hero related anything. I don't like card games. I never play free to play games. And yet... I've put 100+ hours into this game on Steam alone, and probably 3 to 4 times that amount on my phone.

These guys have clearly studied game design to a science. They are straddling the line of casino-like addiction, from the sounds they use, the timing, the pacing -- everything is pitch perfect to keep you hypnotized round after round. It is incredibly addicting.

It's very easy to grasp. Anyone could start and within five minutes feel like they're a winner, and still feel challenged, no matter your skill level. There's enough luck and strategy to make it feel layered.

I have a few complaints after having played it so long, but they are minor and don't really detract from the overall experience.

This is such a "me" kind of game. I loved the pacing, difficulty, and length. It's a perfect little adventure that compelled me to want to keep exploring further and further as it perfectly doled out new upgrades and abilities to do so.

I can totally understand why some might write this game off as an average, to below average experience. There really isn't much game here, and what they do give you, is the same thing over and over again.

With that said, playing this on Oculus Rift (VR is the only reason to play this game) was an unforgettable experience. It's been a year since I finished it and I still think about it. They absolutely nailed what it may feel like being lost up in space, and isolated.

Because of its lasting effect on me, I gotta give it a thumbs up. It's a fantastic audio/visual experience, and while the core gameplay was on the thin side, the rest held it afloat for me. It's still one of my favorite VR games to date.
