You would be surprise how complex and but important mechanics games can have.

After all complex rules and things to know, it is actually really fun game. I used to play this every day, but I don't have time and energy to play dota anymore. Games take around 40 minutes + queue time, that creates really good or bad feeling based on result of game.
One of best sides of dota is mods. Workshop has lot of them, most of them being really good. Maybe even better than some official stuff.
I have multiple times heard on internet that dota community is toxic. But it is kinda not true. Communities aren't toxic, persons are and that shines. Lot of people are nice and friendly. I think I have totally met like 5-15 really toxic persons in hole time that I have played this game..
