The sequel of the classic Point&Click game Syberia. Kate Walker has decided to help Hans in his journey to find the last Mammoth on the mythical island which has the same name as the game's title. She abandoned her work, ignoring her boss calls who has sent a detective to track her down, but Kate determined to fulfill the man's last wish as he is dying.

The gameplay is the same as the previous game, but the maps are larger and there is lots of back and forth, there is still pixel hunting and the puzzles are as difficult as the previous game. It is fun though. I wished there is a map though because I tend to get lost in the large areas.

There is no journal, but in the inventory, you can check the items and notes you've picked. The most beautiful thing about this game is the artwork. it is still as good as the previous game. The colors and textures are gorgeous. I also enjoyed the soundtrack so much.

Pros:
+Interesting story.
+Great soundtracks.
+Nice character development.
+Well-done voice over.
+Nice graphics.

Cons:
- No automatic save.
- No map.
- Lots of backtracking.
- Stairs animations cannot be skipped.
- No Steam achievements.

It is a very well made game that has some touching moments and the ending was perfect. I wonder why they didn't end it there as I haven't played the third game yet. Highly recommended.

Thank you @Fenmalain :Feena:

@helenthia, thank you for the advice! I LOVED the first two games, I don't want to be disappointed by playing the third one >.<

awesome review; so glad that you liked it, Feena! It has remained in my top faves (@drugoja, hey me too!) My advise is, don't play the third for a while. It will be a huge disappointment after the excellence of the first 2... so if enough time has passed, you might like it more... :bell:

The two Syberia games and The Longest Journey are among the first adventure games I've played and are still my favourite. The melancholic atmosphere of Syberia II, but also hopeful, was really haunting :heartframe: And yes you're right about the ending. It didn't really need the third game...

I remember being really into this game (and the first one) back in the day but probably wouldn't have the patience for all the backtracking nowadays. Hoping to see you play/review the third game as well!
