Cannot say I recommend this game anymore to any new / returning players (prebeyondlight). As of players who are up to date & has played through all campaigns, and seasonal activites, then yes i recommend the game for those players.

There is a lot of content / story you'll miss out on if you weren't here on day 1. for example:
Saint 14's Return.
The entire Uldren story line (after they remove the forsaken campaign)
The Red war & what happend to the NPCs after the campaign.
The previous raids (that we've payed for), which will probably be a bit altered & rereleased with a pricetag

I am a lore guy, but it feels really bad when they keep removing the story bit out of the game. Now it feels like an Stale arcade game where you play the same activities until you burn out.
I loved the forges, all the exotic quests that they had which is now removed...

Questing in Destiny 2 as of right now is no more than an Bounty which is really boring telling us to play X amount of activites & get kills.

Quests like the Last word quest, Thorn quest, Outbreak perfected was so good quests in their own way. But it got removed & the weapons got slapped into an exotic kiosk.. It isn't satisfying getting an exotic anymore either as of right now, to get the new exotics you need to do Legendary lost sectors with a chance to get one of them. (This is only for armor, there are exotic quests for weapons but they don't feel unique like the ones we had previously.)

I will always miss the Forge & menagerie & reckoning since it was my favorite gamemodes in PVE.. and it is a shame that the new players cannot even experience that anymore.

As of right now, I have no plans on purchasing the new expansion since I know the content is gonna be gone in a few years. Ill update if I ever purchase it but no plans yet.

As I said before, I wouldn't recommend this game to someone new to the franchise or returning (pre beyondlight) players.
