Great software if you just aren't happy with grabbing encounter maps off of pinterest. Been using it for years online and then on Steam. Looking forward to the upcoming update.

over 80 hours on GOG.com version. Multiplayer is nigh impossible if you aren't running steam. Great game, though I have no idea what the actual story is.... I tend to just build stuff.

This is a fun simulation game where they are constantly adding new features. While it is not pay to win, it certainly helps to have a premium account, a single premium aircraft, or a lineup of premium tanks/ ships to make the Silver Lions (in-game earnable currency) to buy new and upgrade your machines. (you don't need all three)

Damage models and flight models are fairly realistic and the game rewards learning how to fly your plane/ utilize your tank and knowing the strengths and weakness of your opponents. Battle ratings (BR) ensure you are going up against machines that are similarly powerful even if they are from different eras. While the community can be toxic toward Gaijin itself, as a relatively inexperienced player I have found it to be positive and helpful. And, yes, with 425 hours in I am still relatively inexperienced.

Also, learning curve as you increase your BR is actually really nice. Skills you've developed in flying lower BR planes translate well.

I should note that I play almost exclusively Realistic Battles. I find Arcade Battles to be much less fun. They do not reward tactical play like RB does, they normalize the differences between aircrafts, and are a much more "twitch" style of gaming that belongs more to FPS and fantastic/ space sims more than a historical simulator. Also, the Arcade Battle community is actually pretty toxic. It makes me feel like I'm playing against a bunch of whiny 14-year-olds.

So yeah, overall I would suggest playing this game to folks looking for a historical sim, just stick to Realistic Battles.

Love this game. It is creative and engaging. The random generation of the world offers some decent variability in game to game, making different resources easier to get and, consequently, different armors and equipment easier to build. The card-based conflict system is challenging and rewards tactical thinking, and the fact that there are different types of "conflicts" makes the game more enjoyable.

Over the course of 150 hours, the gameplay certainly can get repetitive, but it is a game that I can put down and happily come back to in 6 months and play all over again.

EDIT: Be aware that the game is virtually unplayable without a mouse with a scroll wheel. The mousepad two-finger zoom does not work and there is no zoom capability using hotkeys. Pretty significant oversight in my opinion.

Fun. Witty. Engaging. Inexpensive.

The only negative is that it can get repetitive. I like the character specialization, however. Just like a D&D game, it is all about the min/max.

I loved this game as Final Fantasy 2 (American) for SNES. I remember actually getting tears in my eyes over Palom and Porom. I loved this game when it came out on PSX. It is one of the best in the Final Fantasy series.

The graphic update threw me off terribly when I downloaded this version of the game and I'm still not sure I like the new UI. Frankly, I think it is harder to play now than it was when more of the UI was visible.

That being said, there are small things that have been added, such as each character's thought bubble when one opens the menu, that is really sweet. I haven't beaten this version yet, but it is still the classic Final Fantasy I loved.

I don't play many "casual" games, but this one has me hooked. It starts simple and it gets more complex as you go. About the time you think you have a recipe to just roll through the rest of the game, the creature type changes or your gear becomes obsolete and you have to rethink your strategy. I enjoy this game quite a bit.

This is simply an excellent game for fans of old school RPGs. Take the simplicity and joy of old school Final Fantasy battle system, add in a plethora of mini-games, open world, and other great activities, top it all off with different character classes and vast customization of party and characters, and you have Last Dream.

This game has kept me enthralled through hours of game play and two different party setups. I'm playing a completionist run this time, but I'm excited to create a different party and run through the game again at a later date. It is just that much fun.

I bought this game for $10, and I have gotten more enjoyment out of it than I have from games that I've payed $30-60. Seriously, if you like pure RPG experiences, this is the game for you.
