This is end game DLC for an already very hard game, this is more challenging additional content for people that enjoyed all that was to offer in the base game! Actual review time at the time of writing I have yet to fully finish the DLC but after exploring several legacy dungeons and fighting 2 main bosses, a few side bosses, and exploring 2 map zones I can say I'm extremely impressed with everything I've seen so far and had a glimpse of whats to come from friends perspective.

Music: Amazing symphonies
Art: just wow jaw dropping dark fantasy vistas everywhere
Gameplay: Very rewarding challenges

My only real complaint is the side system for "leveling" the dlc has its own progression system instead of just get runes level up, you collect Scadu fragments and special ashes which respectively increase YOUR damage + defense and the ash increases your SUMMONS. This mechanic is fine on its own but the way they distribute the scadutree fragments uh... makes no sense? Some of them you find in places you'd expect right at the miquella landmarks and some of the churches you can see on the map make sense, but half of them are in the most random places like why does this random fodder peasant with a pot on his head that has literally no attacks in the middle of a field drop one? Ya know maybe ha ha a couple could be like that but why also at the same time I find this secret waterfall way off to the side that has a cave behind it with a group of powerful enemies and my reward is!? flowers??? a smithing stone??? Why are these clearly secret exploration rewards not Scadu fragments or something I care about instead of unironically rocks? I'd say about 15% of exploration so far has had this problem but still 85% of the open world is very cool with very cool items and experiences to find.

explore and try different stuff if game feel too hard.
Its that simple, if you like a challenge you'll like Elden Ring if you don't then don't buy it.

This game is incredible.
Darkest Dungeon is brutal and pulls no punches however you can always prepare for anything that can be thrown at you (that is of course you have the funds to purchase your preparations)its incredibly rewarding to get through a dungeon and hear the ancestor tell you how you crit a boss "EXECUTED WITH IMPUNITY!"

The game has a really steep learning curve so on your first time through I really recommend just looking at the wiki to see what the curios do because thats honestly half the battle. Don't be to afraid to try different strategies in combat because you always have an infinte line of people coming in from the stage coach.

Don't ever give up, even if you get the most RNG shennanigans and have your 4 favorite heros die with 8 of your best trinkets on them and now you're broke, it doesn't matter your save file isn't screwed up or anything of the sort. Darkest Dungeon is honestly the most forgiving game I have ever played like I said before theres always more coming in from the stage coach and if ur losing a lot and heroes are dying the game throws you a bone and give you beneficial town events and remember those 8 trinkets you lost. Yep u can get them back and I mean all 8 at the same time because a special boss fight appears and the reward for merely surviving it not even winning it is your lost trinkets.

So now get in this ruinous estate and drive the fiends back!

A lot of fun, not just some "Minecraft" like game, building is just a side activity the main focus is getting more powerful weapons, armor, and loot so you can face off against tons of bosses
