Almost perfect quality early access title
Performance
10/10
As an Early Access title, this game blows me away with how well it performs. Though, myself having an advance rig to play it on, it can be handled by pretty much any average gaming rig. The game runs smoothly and has never had any bugs as far as textures/framerate/general taxing performance issues, so for that reason I give it a perfect score (though be sure to read the requirements as always before purchasing.)
Utility
8/10
Even for an Early Access title, you will find very few to no bugs in this game. Never have I had a glitch happen (thus far) and generally I never experience any lag within the game. Though, if you planning to play along with your mates, be sure to understand that some actions in the game may bug out or delay due to latency issues. An example would be me and my friend are in-game, him a as a Scout and me as a Driller. Upon using his grappling hook, he experienced an internet spike and with that the grappling hook disconnected and he fell to his death. This game will not be so forgiving if you have a bad internet provider and playing online.
Controls
10/10
Usually Early Access titles have bugs and programming errors with the controls of the game itself. Though the date of purchase I have acquired this game it was flawless, no latency, no wrong inputs and work liked a charm. When you click, it will respond, when you press space it will jump, so much better than most AAA titles these days.

ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE!
Challenge
9/10
This game requires a lot of focus and teamwork in order to stave off hordes of enemies while trying to achieve an objective that may or may not be trying to kill you. Be it fighting boss style enemies in an ELIMINATION mission or having to take a leap of faith to find the last bit of MORKITE before an exploder nukes the entire area. This game has multiple stages of difficulty, some must be unlocked by achieving missions under said difficulty. Though as a fair warning, this game is not made around the idea of the SOLO player, and instead was focused around the co-op experience. Be sure you have some mates to play with if you are considering playing this game, if not you can use the quickplay option to link up with other players.
Content
7/10
From the many biomes that you can play missions in, to the multitude of different enemy types (luckily some locked away in a specific biome), you will be needing an arsenal to survive the swarms! Though there aren’t many different weapons to choose from (2 main and 2 secondary weapons per class) you do get access to a decent amount of customization of said weapons. From damage buffs to ammo surplus, you will need to plan carefully to ensure that you make it out alive with all the “ROCK AND STONE!” you can carry.
Diversity
6/10
Though there is a bunch of content, this game is pretty cut and dry when it comes to what you can take and what you can use efficiently. For instance, if all the party take DPS weapons and none take a hoard clearing tool, you are going to suffer for your choices. As it stands, the way it’s got to be is that Scout is a DPS, Heavy Weapons is a HOARD CLEARER, Driller is a HOARD CLEARER, and Engineer is the only class that can kind of switch between HOARD CLEARER or DPS. Also, tools being specific to each class will cause a need for a class to be taken to ensure another can perform to their highest efficiency. For example, the Scout needs the Engineer to ensure he can reach up to high places without falling to his death, or the Driller needs the Engineer/Gunner in order to reach higher to reach places to mine minerals.
Immersion
10/10
You are a dwarf who loves beer, Karl, and “ROCK AND STONE!” You work alongside your brothers to face a job so challenging, that it leaves humans and elves shaking in their boots. Doesn’t matter if it is the future, you are mining rock, crushing skulls, and getting wasted at the bar. Cheers’ Brothers!
Design

Charming
Visuals
8/10
Having its own art style, Deep Rock Galactic achieves a level of classic character that some older titles have. A certain charm to the jagged edge geometry while still achieving the eb-and-flow of both mineshafts and BEARDS. Also, on the plus side that this style of design allows the game to not need much space on the hard drive, while still accomplishing a beautiful atmosphere unlike any other.
Sound
7/10
The music and quotes of Deep Rock really do set the setting further than just seeing. You really feel like you are deep down in some alien world, and that the only way you can survive is by being smart and being as tough as stone. Dwarfs sounding like dwarfs, drunk and angry at the same time, though lacking any real individual character between the characters as far as independent voice line/actors. Also having enough sense to make sounds directional so you know where the enemy is coming from or right behind you is a nice bonus.
Mapping
9/10
The tunnels and caverns do use premade title sets but you will rarely notice it, I still find myself in awe when I enter a massive cavern or stare down into what seems like a bottomless pit. Best part about it is that you need to get somewhere fast? Maybe the final boss/egg/mineral in under you, or the escape pod is about to leave with only 20 seconds left?! Well just dig your way out! Don’t like that you must use a long tunnel to get down to a cavern? Just dig straight down! Always works for my mate, until he falls to his death in a vat of lava.
