COMP 323 Assignment 7-1
Program binaries in many systems are typically structured as follows:

Code is stored starting with a small, fixed virtual address, such as 0. The code segment is followed by the data segment, which is used for storing the program variables. When the program starts executing, the stack is allocated at the other end of the virtual address space and is allowed to grow toward lower virtual addresses.

What is the significance of this structure for the following schemes?
1) Contiguous memory allocation
The addresses of each process are contained in the range from the base address to the process to the sum of the base address and the limit. The data portion of the process begins at its offset from the base address and grows towards higher addresses; the stacks also begins at the limit of the process’ address space and grows towards lower addresses.
