I'm reviewing this in terms of its virtual reality capabilities.

The visuals (at least in VR) are lackluster, even at highest settings. The framerate isn't the worst thing in the world but it's not too great either, it definitely doesn't reach a comfortable level within an HTC Vive. Due to the graphics not being up to par, it _seriously_ takes away from the experience. It completely ruins the immersion and ruins the scare or creep factor that the game is clearly going for. The gameplay is okay, as long as you understand this is a walking simulator.

What's worse than the visuals, however, is the VR controls. I'm not really sure how to describe it, but you don't really get a lot of freedom of movement. I understand this is a seated experience so I'm not saying "freedom of movement" as in room-scale, but rather moving your head around is extremely jarring and kind of screws with the camera and the game. I understand what they were going for here, that you're miles underwater and you're in a pressurized suit, so of course it's not as easy to move around, but it really screws with maneuverability and the overall experience. Rather than increasing immersion it just ends up being frustrating.

I can't recommend the game, at least in VR. Possibly the experience is better without VR, but I have yet to really try this, and I purchased it with a creepy, immersive, VR game in mind.

Bought this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when I could because I knew there would be lots of DLC, and then ended up not getting all of the DLC.

An overall improvement from the original Audiosurf. If you enjoyed the first one, you may want to look into getting this gem.
