I'm only an hour and a half in, but I could almost shed a tear it's that revitalizing of an experience, and I can't wait to witness more of what DOOM has to offer. I'm a huge DOOM fan, it's a series I come back to in some way every month of my life for many, many, many years now and can always have a good time. 1 & 2 will never lose their devilish charm, their speed, their intensity, crazy weapons, boss fights, good level design, monster closets, easter eggs, you name it they did it and with the help of custom .wads they'll live forever and they can't be replaced. I even enjoy DOOM3 a great amount, there, I said it, and we'll leave it at that. I was one of those that in 2010 was scouring for every piece of DOOM4 info I could get, coming to the realization that it wasn't sounding too promising that it was working out for anyone with each passing year. And it got canned and I was crushed, even though the footage that did get out wasn't the feel of a DOOM game anyway, it would've still meant a new game and that would've been enough for me. But what did come of that situation, was quite possibly what DOOM3 should have been all along. This game is brutal and relentless, viciously gorgeous and fast paced. It's the closest we're gonna get to that "classic" feel, and it's intoxicating. Flying around the map, blowing ♥♥♥♥ up, sparks flying, shooting an angry ass chain gun, and coming in close to finish a demon off by ripping its head off with your hands has never felt so invigorating. Cutscenes are kept to a minimum, so the pacing is where it should be. Back as well are PDA's, colored door keys, and the berserk mode, so nostalgia a plenty. And I haven't even gotten to Hell yet. While I work on getting there, if you have any love for DOOM, I highly suggest you give this game a shot. - "Hey, Ron! Can we say '♥♥♥♥' in the game?"

I'm bad at video games, and I'm in top 400 right now, this game might just improve your reflexes. It's daunting at first but it might just be the best $5 you'll ever spend, hell I've bought a couple more copies for friends to have some more competition and plus just want to give this game more money cause it deserves it. It's a game that you unintentionally keep thinking about in the back of your head, keep wanting to go back to for just. one. more. run. Give it a shot, you won't regret it!
