A good solid game, as usual from the FM franchise. If you've played any of the previous games then really you know what to expect. Like a lot of franchise, year after year games the biggest update is the new teams and players/transfers etc.

Overall I would say the game is a little more difficult than FM12, but the only other big difference is the UI. I personally prefer the more modern style UI in FM14 though as other people have mentioned, the match engine lacks a little reality on occasions.

As you can see I've played 900 hours or so and have the same number on FM12 and have done everything from manage the big teams, to taking Colwyn Bay from Conferance North to the Premier League.

I won't be buying the next couple of FM installments however, unless they radically redesign a large part, which let's face it.. won't happen. I think having 1 new game every 2 or 3 seasons is enough; especially when there are a lot of downloads with all the recent transfers available for 1 or 2 seasons after the release.

Overall though, highly recommended; you can spend many many hours tweaking with training (individual for each player, or what areas you want coaches to control to match focus), match formations and tactics and match day proceedings. One of my favourite areas is to control the balance within my squad. Getting the right quality and squad depth, but not too many good players to keep them happier with game time, matching HG or FGN player rules, bringing in youth players for future HG or simply having young players with bags of potential who need enough game time (wonderkids). It can be a minefield getting the right balance over the whole squad to cover injuries, suspensions and the like, have enough fitness and quality to win competitions yet keep players happy all while managing finances and player rules. Call me boring but I love crafting a squad like that :D
