Review Showcase
Shadow of the Tomb Raider builds on the solid work of its predecessor, Rise Of The Tomb Raider. SOTTR has no shortage of beautiful vista's, large puzzles to solve, crypts to explore and numerous thrilling set pieces. The optional tombs that you'll encounter along your playthrough are more complex and far more deadly compare to it's predecessor, the game can punish you for making a slight misstep.

Camilla Luddington is back to reprise her role as Lara Croft along with returning co-star Earl Baylon, who plays her loyal companion, Jonah. The relationship between them provides plenty of emotional heft in the game's recurring cutscenes. Clearly, a huge amount of time and care has been put into animating them and bringing them to life. Side Mission cutscenes fall a bit flat, poor facial animation and dead eyes galore.

As with it's predecessor, you are in full control of how you want to engage in combat and the new enhanced skills system shows this. You can gear Lara more for running and gunning or stealth, it's up to you. There are a few new combat mechanics added since Rise Of The Tomb Raider with the most notable being that Lara now has the ability to cover herself with mud to further aid in hiding from enemies, a crucial skill in the later parts of the game.

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider marks the end of the trilogy, a trilogy that I thoroughly enjoyed.
