EvE is tremendously immersive, has a huge world, a living economy, and dozens of things you can be doing at any given time.

What you WILL be doing, however, is spending 99% of your time desperately trying to prevent your ship, assets, and work from being griefed for entertainment by players with 10+ years and three accounts with scripts sitting in-game literally 20 hours a day, 7 days a week. Even if you could defend yourself 1v1, it won't matter because they're paying $60 a month for 3 accounts so they can just kill you effortlessly with 3 ships. Even if you did the same, it would be pointless: the Eve "skill" system is basically paying for a subscription and waiting.

There are thousands of players with 20,000+ hours in the game who never log off, have half a dozen accounts with scripts, and will blow up whatever, whenever, literally just for the "fun" of griefing. They have in-depth knowledge of the rules of space (spoiler: they make no sense), dummy account spies watching & logging all incoming & outgoing traffic, and will abuse and exploit them to the maximum--even losing money just to grief you in "safer" areas. They openly scam, cheat, lie, and steal in trades and the company endorses it; no joke--literally anything goes except "bad words" in chat. EVE has maybe 1 new ship release a year but don't get excited, it's not for you. It's usually locked behind godawful "tournaments" filled with the same 3 minmaxed ship designs or an obnoxious grind in some backwater system that endgame players are camping by the dozen. Noobs get sad little go carts that get smashed by vet's expensive supercars.

They've introduced "PvP factions" but make no mistake, everything everywhere at all times is PvP. 99.9% of the time "PvP" just means someone with absolutely 0% chance of fighting back getting obliterated to amuse bored bullies. Everybody will tell you to "join a corporation", but corps are filled with these same bored bullies who will pretend to be your friend to proudly backstab, steal, or grief you on other accounts. Then they'll go to Reddit and brag about it to other 50 year old bored bullies.

There is literally no reason to start playing this game; the company has not fundamentally changed anything about this game for solo players in 10 years. You will simply be food for clans comprised of hundreds of minmaxed rich veterans with third party programs and multiple accounts.
