Steam will stop running on Windows XP in 0 days.

Steam has a FPS counter under Settings - In-Game.
I tried it in Duke Nukem Forever in multiplayer and fullscreen and it caused random crashes, the game would just freeze up. It never happened in single player and never happened in a window.
So if you're stumped like I was, check and make sure that FPS counter is off.
