RTS is my genre. This is not RTS. They cut out virtually everything that separates an RTS from a tactics or a randomly assorted mobile game. There is no base building or resource management. There is barely defense placement. There are no macro choices, the factories on the map can be taken or destroyed/repaired, you don't choose which structures or units to build or when.

The game is ENTIRELY: drag-select a group of units, attack-move them to a defensive choke point or forwards into the enemy. Occasionally target an ability, like a Nuke. That's the entire game play loop; that's all you ever do.

It's indie, I don't want to be too harsh, but they're abusing my #1 genre's tag. This IS NOT RTS. Get these imposters the hell out of my genre. Buy this for your 3-year-old nephew, he'll like it for all of 30 minutes.

... and it's pretty damn buggy. There's almost nothing going on here and it's all sloppy (poor collision, messy pathing, attack-scan hang-ups). I've got freezes and occasionally "FPS drop detected, resetting..." then the whole game jumps back 5 seconds and random units die.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback on the game. As a solo developer and a huge fan of the RTS genre myself, I take your concerns seriously, and I’d like to address some of the points you raised.

Nuke Them All is heavily inspired by Z (1996) from the Bitmap Brothers, which, unlike some other RTS titles, focuses on fast-paced, pure strategy without the resource collection mechanics commonly seen in C&C clones. The intent behind this design choice is to deliver an experience that's focused on quick, tactical decisions and direct combat rather than macro-management, allowing for a more streamlined, action-packed play style.

I understand that this might not align with everyone's expectations of what an RTS should be, especially for those looking for base-building and extensive resource management. The game aims to pay homage to a different style of RTS that strips down complexity for a more immediate and accessible approach to strategy – something that's different from traditional RTS titles but still falls within the genre.

As for the bugs you've encountered, I sincerely apologize for any issues disrupting your experience. I've spent a great deal of time and effort on updates and bug fixes, and the game has reached a point where it is stable in testing and feedback. That said, it's clear from your review that you encountered problems, and I’d greatly appreciate it if you could share more details so I can investigate and resolve any remaining issues. My goal is to provide a polished, smooth experience for every player, and I am committed to ensuring that the game is as bug-free as possible.

Thank you for supporting indie development, and for giving Nuke Them All a try. I'm always open to constructive feedback and will keep working to improve the game for both long-time RTS fans and those new to the genre.
