It seems that the players who are praising this game are probably viewing it with nostalgia-infused rose-tinted glasses. I liked KotOR 1, but the story and the characters are much weaker this time around. Some of the characters in your group are straight up annoying and unlikeable. The game is very dated graphics-wise and also clunky in that you are not given much lead as to what you are supposed to be doing. A child of its time. To think that this came out around the same time as Half-Life 2, the graphics are quite embarrasing. The fights lack oomph, a game like Dark Forces came out around a decade earlier than this which is mind-blowing when you consider how unengaging the combat is compared to that one. It is no mystery why they are doing a remake of KotOR 1 and not this one.
