I waited until I had 100%ed the game to write this.
I got way more out of Stray as a game than what I first expected to, both from the gameplay itself and from the impact it now has on me.

The aesthetics of 90s - 2000s apartments filled with touches of neon appeal to me a lot as they feel both familiar yet old. I loved the little over-the-top details of old air cons everywhere and frosted glass I used to have in a home decades ago. The game flows very well like this, with each new section presenting the same world but in a new unique way.

It reminds me of my life as a whole, as I've had my cat Cinnamon for most of my life. She's very old now and playing this game reminded me of the simple joys I've had with her over these years. Having the small cat-like interactions of scratching every nice surface, meowing at each new person, and pushing every object off of a shelf has allowed me to relive the countless moments I can remember with Cinnamon.

I went into this because I loved the look of it, yet it took me playing it to realise why it appealed to me so much in the first place. Now that my expectations have been exceeded I'm left with the nostalgic feeling of life with my own cat. I appreciate this game for simply existing as I can experience some of the great things of owning a cat and getting invested into the story of a cat.

It's stressful to think about losing a pet and I find solace in that now I can divert some of that worry into playing this game. I would definitely recommend it on the grounds of the story and gameplay as well as the grand world and atmosphere that it's set in, but I would also absolutely recommend this game for people who just love their pets. It's an amazing game to remember in the long term and I'm going to buy the OST now.

This game is amazingly fun; sometimes beautifully satisfying.

This is until you accidentally delete that motorway you placed because the light blue houses spawned on the other side of the map to the building, only to realise there's absolutely nothing you can do because you have to wait for the cars already crossing it to finish their journey for it to return to your inventory. So you wait, pained at the growing number of icons gently popping up on the building to taunt your foolish mistake as you remain helpless, the timer appearing simply to wallow in your tears as your other buildings going neglected at this poor sight dismantling your great run. The last car exits the motorway and it returns to your inventory as you instantly pause the game, taking a moment to notice the building as its timer sits half way to destruction while placing the motorway back in its rightful position. Resuming the game you watch with anticipation as the cars begin their journeys once more. The timer nears completion as the first car enters.
It heads to the furthest car park spot away from the entry. You lose. The end.

Can't end on a bad note tho, right? Time to play some more!
100% recommend, would blame the game for my own actions again.
