I played this game through multiple times with 4 different characters over the years. It's a classic. The first xbox game I ever stayed up into the morning playing through to complete. I don't know if anything yet has had the same effect of "how do i trigger amnesia to go blind through that again" that this one had on me the first time I finished it. Now, it's more accessible and better looking than it ever has been, besides a few weirdly flat or ugly textures and faces... *mostly* ignorable! Seriously, it's a classic and if you want to experience Bioware as the good studio it once was, play this.

Also Elanos Haliat is FINALLY actually a Turian and not a human with a weird voice. That always annoyed me because it was somehow never fixed until now...

Played the original as a kid. A lot. This remake has reawakened one of my favorite rpgs, with a unique take on the classic fantasy worlds that D&D and other OGs have done to death. You could really tell the old Spiderweb games were made by dudes who were really into writing neat cool settings with diverse characters who felt alive, with both maddeningly weird dialogue, dungeons, and huge maps to roam. The modern updates have removed some art and other elements I kinda miss, but also are huge benefits to making older clunky systems feel more accessible (and also maybe too easy.) This is a classic.

I grew up with isometrics RPGs, like the Avernum series and Baldur's Gate. While older, the writing in those series always felt ahead of the AAA-rpg titles I picked up from friends over the years. This captures that era well, with a tone than fluctuates subtly or quite dramatically from comedy to incredibly dark "everyone dies, sorry" situations. This applies to both dialogue and the stories you find yourself a part of. You get attached to the zany, often funny, mostly gloomy, world you find yourself in.

I can't wait to see how this story goes down, but I'm also sad knowing that like all stories do, it will end sooner the harder I push towards it. That's one mark of a hell of a good story.

This is my favorite Left 4 Dead re-skin. Great characters with great inter-party dialogue, and a cool understanding of the Warhammer Fantasy universe that will be easy for newcomers to understand. Good for a casual L4D fan or someone who wants a challenging block-evade-combo combat game.
