Highly addictive yet very satisfying once you finally grasp the mechanics and start to win more. As I see it, many players (including myself) spent hours upon hours just to get their first win, experiencing defeat after defeat and then blaming it all on RNG when that generally isn't the issue—it's your playstyle. Do not be discouraged if you lose; it will happen a lot.

With that said, Balatro can be quite unforgiving if you're not paying close attention to Joker descriptions; you have to use your wit, learn the mechanics, and figure out patterns if you want to actually beat the game.

A thrilling, 80s-inspired slasher film scenario that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish, with great voice acting and narrative.

The overall story progression or length of the game is ~5 hours, and there's plenty of different dialogue options and outcomes, as well as endings, for the replay value.

It's a real killer.
