Yeah... don't bother playing it right now. Perhaps when the mod gets an update with a new episode, it could be a little bit better, but it's no good currently. The gunplay is clunky and unexpectable and what's in the mod currently can lead to quick and easy softlocks due to the lack of balance.

Oh dear...
Oh sweet Lord is it awful. Not a single good thing to say about it.
Pros: None come to mind.
Cons:
There's no discernible plot.
Half of the assets are stolen from gamebanana (I can even name some, the ff27 gas mask citizen is a prime example.) Sound effects are randomly mixmatched between each other, zombies play barnacle and antlion guard noises and the fast zombie scream is replaced with the stalker scream.
There's a giant floating terminator head boss battle in the middle of the game for no apparent reason.
Several maps are unbeatable without noclip, and at least one other spawns you in the void and hurdles you towards your death.
The entire mod is horribly unoptimized. I have an rtx 2070 and a ryzen 9 3900x and it still lags in several areas due to its atrociously unoptimized levels.
Each map in itself is ridiculously overly scaled for no apparent reason. The levels appear appealing for a few seconds until you realize that the design is fundamentally flawed by the scale and that the bloom is overbearingly hard to look it, it looks worse than a mid 2000s game in terms of how much bloom there is.
Some levels leave you without weapons at complete random. At least one level other than the one where I had to noclip simply to not die required noclip to finish.
The closed captions are in Russian with no option to change them.
Ending "Spoilers": For some reason, the game ends with you launching nuclear ICBMs at what I can only assume is Earth. I honestly cannot tell if you're on Earth or in space by at least half way into the game.
What doesn't help, either, is that the developer attempts to cover up the simple objective fact that this mod is bad by saying in the about section of the download that it is experimental and that players "usually rush along, forgetful of everything, caught in perilous skirmishes and long fights and sometimes not even noticing how deep the meaning of their surroundings is," to which I will respond to by saying that this mod is about as "deep" as a layer of fat and scum on top of a dirty pot of boiling beef stew and is an affront to game design as its own form of art.
Conclusion
All in all, I will give this mod a generous 1 out of 10 simply because the game can launch and has gameplay which, in its heart, is not fundamentally busted simply because it's just Half-Life 2's gameplay but done much worse. Do not download this mod. Save your hard drive the space and look up a playthrough if you want to see it.

Honestly? It's free, it's playable from start to finish, and it has a story. Already better than hdtf and Wilson Chronicles combined. Baby's first mod, yeah, and it's not all that great, especially since it doesn't have a HUD for no clear reason. With that being said, it plays just fine, you can get from the start of it to the end of it.

Please for your own good, do not download Wilson Chronicles. It's a mess. The visual and audio fidelity is all over the place and less consistent than a cake that's been frosted by a blind guy with tremors. The gameplay is lackluster at best, broken at regular. I had a necessary character continuously die on me thanks to the map being broken (he would touch the wall of a tram and just die right there.) The maps have broken cubemaps, making reflective areas purple in several areas, and the maps themselves don't have up to date node graphs, which is just lousy. The gameplay and level design are a mystery to me. There are plenty of corridors that never lead anywhere or contain anything in them. There are alternate paths which do nothing that cause you to go in circles. Important areas aren't lit up while background scenery is. I don't know what the process of developing this was. If they thought that they could afford to let players be confused as long as it "looks good" then they should have spent time on actually making it look good. If they wanted players to explore, they should have put in genuine alternate paths like the ones you see in Half-Life instead of just "you can go through this door OR through this vent to get to this room." The assets are a hodgepodge mixmatch of Half-Life 2, the source counter strikes, left 4 dead, a number of other source games, and things that appear to either be straight out of the gmod workshop or facepunch forum threads. There is no singular art direction, the levels have had the most basic of design concepts implemented with no advanced work or theory, making for most levels being cramped hallways or open "arena" rooms. The cutscenes are a mess as well. The opening attempts to mirror the black mesa inbound section of Half-Life with the tram ride, but instead the protagonist is driving a car to which he can barely turn left or right to look out the windows. Custom voice lines or animations are a no-show. A lot of citizens reuse incorrect animations in particular situations (for example, a guard holding his pistol like an smg, a scientist sitting down as if he's carrying a gun in his hands, etc.) The game is also poorly optimized. I should not be dropping under 60 fps in a source game in the year of our Lord 2020, especially not with a 2070 and a Ryzen 9 3900x.
All in all, do not waste your time with this one. The gameplay doesn't excuse the 6 gigabytes of space on your drive. As a matter of fact, nothing excuses the 6 gigabytes of space, the game takes less than an hour to finish up to the "to be continued" point, even for someone who's playing it blind for the first time.

Checklist:
Pros:
SSAO in the Source Engine. Admittedly Impressive
Cons:
Gameplay is abysmal and the story is nonsensical.
Confusing level layout with little in terms of telling the player where to go
Detrimentally buggy. Important characters can die randomly and players can simply walk past level load triggers.
Uninspired. The game does not feel or play like Half-Life or Half-Life 2.
Unoptimized. Areas will lag for seemingly no reason at times.

Not sure what I can say about Half-Life 2 that hasn't already been said before. It has received hundreds of awards and has been regarded by most major critics and review companies as one of the greatest games to have ever been made, both in its genre and in general. If you're teetering on buying it or not, I have nothing more I can add to entire you other than just sternly telling you that you need to buy it.

Ever heard of a little cancelled project called "F-Stop?" Superliminal is a game whose puzzle concepts are very similar to said cancelled title, basing themselves around the concept of "perspective." Players need to move objects around in order to change their size based on their perspective, as well as acquire new objects in some levels by looking at them in a particular way on the walls until they materialize into a real-world object. The overall mood of the game is very casual and relaxing, and it in some ways feels akin to games such as Portal and The Stanley Parable. The music is pretty good as well. No puzzle ever felt too difficult to solve and all in all it was a pleasant experience. My only real qualm with it is that the game feels very short. It only took about 90 minutes to complete entirely, and that was with a few short breaks in between. It feels like there's more that could have been done, most concepts are seen for maybe a few small rooms and then dropped in favor of what comes next (for example, there is a level where you have to resize an object that emits light in order to see where to go next. This is used twice and then never again. There is also a point where you take some wooden boards off of a doorway, but there's never a point where bridging with wooden boards like these was ever necessary. Sort of felt like a missed opportunity.) All in all, I'd say the game is worth picking up if it's on sale for 20% or more. 16 dollars seem reasonable for about an hour to an hour and a half of gameplay. Please also note that there aren't really many workshop items out yet, so my opinion on the matter of "how much there is to do" may change with the addition of more content, but for now, 16 bucks on sale, 20 for a sale with the soundtrack. Personally, I probably wouldn't buy it at full price, but, again, these things are up to you. The game is fun none-the-less.

As someone who's played over 37 hours of it on Steam at the time of writing this and countless, possibly hundreds of hours with the DRM-free edition, allow me to say to everyone here: Amnesia The Dark Descent still holds up to the testament of time. It is absolutely a game worthy of its praise. The delicious blend of horror elements applied to critical thinking leaves the player with a constant dread that they have to remain quick-footed, lest they succumb to the many dangers that await within Castle Brennenburg. The design of the puzzles contrast from that of many modern Portal-likes, wherein which the puzzles Amnesia displays are all grounded in the reality of the universe, having to correct steam pressure and water flow and all sorts of other reasonable and realistic things. The storytelling through the use of flashbacks and semi-frequently locate-able journal entries leaves the player with a fantastic sense that they're working to understand what has happened to them and where they are. The twist of the main story, to which I will leave vague so-as not to spoil anyone who doesn't know about it, comes not in the form of a sudden turn, but as concepts that appear to the player as time goes on and they discover new pieces of lore to the world around them.
In terms of soundtrack, Amnesia pulls no punches when it comes to delivering terrifying and dramatic themes that fit in with what goes on around them. The sound design of the game at large contributes greatly to the emotions, concepts, and situations that the player encounters, whether that be realistic sounds of boots splashing through water or the leathery pulling of a grunt walking.
Through all the time I've played Amnesia, I've rarely ever felt like I was put in an unfair position due to a lack of equipment provided by the game. Although lantern oil, laudanum, and tinderboxes always feel like a scarce commodity that could run out at any given moment if I'm not careful, I never find myself in a position where I don't have the things I need to keep myself alive.
All in All, Amnesia The Dark Descent succeeds resoundingly in the fields of gameplay, pacing, level design, character design, sound design, music, writing, storytelling, and immersion, and it is one of the few games that exist in this world that I have the decency to say meets the perfect blend. I haven't a single bad thing to say about Amnesia the Dark Descent.

I'm sure there are plenty of "yes" reviews which are just meme posts all over the place, but I'm going to try and actually make a real one here. Don't buy this game. I bought it on sale, for, like, a dollar, and it was still a waste of my money. The few updates to HDTF that have happened since its dumpster fire of an initial release have been done by, like, one or two guys who don't take the game serious either. Nothing done to the game will ever change its abysmal story and broken gameplay. There's nothing left for us here. Valve has returned to Half-Life with Half-Life: Alyx. We don't have to settle for these anymore. Go out, buy Half-Life Alyx, and enjoy yourself.

Note: Progress as of writing includes just about everything except for Godmaster's content. Please be advised that there may or may not be spoilers in this review.

After a run that took over 30 hours for me to complete, I can safely say that Hollow Knight is a fantastic game, well deserving of all the praise that's given to it. The gameplay progression is done in such a way that the player always knows whether or not there's something more they need to progress before they get it, but seldom in such a way that they're particularly spoiled on exactly what that is. After a certain point early on, the game turns completely non-linear, allowing the player to decide where they want to go and what they want to do from there onward. Upgrades to the player aside from specific items come in the form of mask shards and vessel fragments, which are scattered across the world in (sometimes difficult but never impossible to find) locations. Many bosses are difficult, with the later half of the game becoming exceedingly harder and harder to defeat, but never in such a way that things feel unfair, as bosses become easy to predict in one way or another as you fight them. The additional content that allows the player to play for longer amounts of time before they choose their ending is plentiful, and the free DLC updates have ensured that there's more and more stuff to do. As far as gameplay goes, this Metroidvania feels like it's on par with some of its greatest forefathers, maybe even Super Metroid tier or beyond.
In terms of soundtrack, Christopher Larkin has done an amazing job at bringing the game to life. The dramatic and emotional feelings that one would expect from an Epic involving knights and darkness are portrayed fantastically through the music. Nothing ever feels out of place. If you're curious about buying the game, the music is a must-have.
In terms of bugs, I've found very few. The only notable one I can think of was a music bug during a particular fight where the music tree got confused and simply stopped playing any music during the battle.
All in all, I give Hollow Knight a 10/10, and absolutely recommend it to anyone who's looking for a new Platformer to play or are interested in challenging Metroidvanias.

Worth picking up for its price. The tf2 soundtrack comes in both mp3 and flac format, and the download now features the compositions for each track. Absolutely worth it.
