Edit: After 100 hours more, I can safely say I love this game. It is absolutely worth your time if you like Fallout, even more so if you love the idea of creating a little piece of home in the Wastelands of Appalachia. The perk system has dug its claws into me and I find myself crafting and chipping away into a powerful energy-weapon wielding geek. It's still updated with events, and rewards to get. This is the best time to get into this game.

I bought it day one, regretted it so much. It was buggy, and empty feeling. Now, I just tried it again and I can say it is worth playing. The vibe is much improved, the gameplay and lag/server connection is solid. On top of that I find that people play it often so you always bump into another dude for potential co-op. The new NPCs flesh out the Appalachia and make the world feel moving and changing. It's basically Fallout 4 with online.... in Appalachia... during a time much earlier than the other games. This is a prequel of sorts compared to the other Fallout games, and the lore and quests do a great job exploring the origins of many factions as well as answering the question: What about the people who didn't get into a vault and didn't immediately die from nuclear annihilation?
